Well Nationals kind of sucked top to bottom. First off i weighed in at 110lbs and was fighting people that cut 10-15lbs to make 135lbs (i was fighting at 135) so on fight day they were about 145-150lbs. Second off none of my coaches made it up to the tournament, so i a teammate and I were fighting all by ourselves without a coach. Without a coach it was hard for me to be motivated to fight i just wasnt feeling it.As far as the fights they were all pretty fun. Everyone in my weightclass had years and years of experience on me (ive only had 9mo training) so i was able to learn alot.My first fight we started right away i threw a combo took him down and got on top right away. I tried to maintain position but he muscled me off and i ended up getting him a submission, they made me release it because they thought it was a neck crank (whih it clearly wasnt) so i let go and he ended up getting my back and choking me out, i was a bit pissed about that but it was all good.My second fight was back and forth the whole time, the refs called it fight of the night and we had the crowd cheering the whole time. It started and i dropped him with the first punch and jumped on him looking for a quick finish, it didnt happen. We exchanged take downs and submissions over and over, and in a scramble to our feet i threw a punch and a knee that put him out. They would have stopped the fight and declared me the winner by knockout (body shot) but my punch accidently skimmed his face so they let him recover for about 5mins even though the shot that put him down was the knee to the rib (which i have on tape). So after that they start it it goes back and forth, he catches me in a deep submission (like the 4th one) and everyone thought i was done for (again). Well i managed to escape get on top hit him, get him in a submission and we finished the fight and i won by decision 9pts - 2pts.My 3rd fight came right after my second and i was completely gassed and i felt like jello, we start i head and arm throw him but dont maintain position, he gets back and choked me out. So all in all i ended up taking 5th in the Nation at 135lbs. Im happy with myself even though i lost because for one i shouldnt have even been there because i have little training, 2 i didnt have a coach, and 3 on paper i shouldnt have won any matches let alone put up a fight in all of them so i think i did good. Im still first in the state at 115lbs (my weightclass) and first in the Nation at 115lbs on paper (the kid that won at 115lbs at Nation is the kid i beat in 45seconds in the state finals so i think its safe to say i would have most likely won), and 5th in the Nation at a weightclass that isnt even mine. This tournament really helped me alot and now i am more serious than ever. I got to fight top level competition and experience something that only makes me better in the end. My gameplan is train harder than ever, i NEED to start packing on the weight or else im going to have a hell of a time fighting top level competition, i was winning both the matches i lost, i was up 4-0 in both of them and i most due to getting muscles off of position and not having the weight to hold them down. So anyway thats my story for the U.S National Tournament this year, next year im placing top 3. P.S. The two people i lost to ended up taking 1st and the other took 3rd so i have no shame in losing to that.

I think a congratulations are in order! Were any of these guys Marines?

I never got to fight the Marine, the first guy i fought was from like OK and he drove 36 hours to get there, and the second and 3rd were from Cali. The Marine and the first guy i fought ended up fighting for 1st/2nd.

Here is the video of my 2nd fight, i get caught in like 3-4 submissions that had everyone scared but i pulled it off. I dropped him with the first punch and with a knee at the mid point that puts him out (it would have been called a knock out but i had accidentally hit him in the face while scrambling to the feet so thats why it continued). But anyway it was great back and forth i ended up winning 10-2. Sorry there is no sound and quality isnt too great.Enjoy!! (Im in my Green/Black trunks as always)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHqM9bgEjvY

You did pretty well considering the guy was bigger than you. I still think this sport is very unappealing, but that's besides the point.
