So I knew this girl for 3 months and we've been getting along quite well. I like her a lot, shes nice to talk to, and attractive. I just recently found out from her that she has a boyfriend (which I would've never expected because shes a pretty touchy person, sometimes grabbing onto my arm, or feeding something to me with her fingers). And she always seemed to be too busy to be dating because she is in a pretty intense program (though I guess all those times she said she was busy, was probably time she spent with her b/f)
One day she was telling me about how bad her relationship is going and I'm basically just there to listen to all of her problems because it seemed to her that her boyfriend doesn't care about her too much and that she doesnt think the relationship will last. Right before I left, I was thinking of giving her a hug because she felt like she really needed one, but right when I was about to, I backed out. I like her, but I don't want to give the impression that I'm trying to steal her away from her boyfriend.
I don't think anything will work out between us at all because of how the school system works with internships, because after this study term ends, I won't be seeing her for a year and by then, she'll probably forget about me. But I just want to give her a hug goodbye, and I'm not quite sure how to go about it, or how she might think of it. I'm not known to be a person who is very open to hugging and gives them out frequently, so I guess my hug would mean a lot more than someone else's. What do you all think?
