Yea...A Shaving Problem....
-
Don't shave against the hairs? e.g. Shave down your cheek, and not upwards. This will prevent ingrown hairs.
-
There are various after-shave products that can help - some people swear by something called Tendskin. I think is helps to use a bacteriocidal/fungicidal wash, because often the bumps result from bacteria or fungi on your skin infecting nicks in the skin.It also helps to shave with the grain of the hair rather than against it - the shave is not as close but less damaging to the skin.

Well, along the idea of this topic, I've had a bump like thing on my jawline from shaving and it's been there for months and months. It just hasn't seemed to go away. Any idea on how something like that can be fixed?

A bump that doesn't go away isn't an ordinary pimple. It could be a sebaceous cyst, but they usually go away after about two months. If it's been longer, you should mention it to the doctor next time you see him/her. It may be a cyst of some sort that is semi-permanent unless removed by minor surgery. If it starts growing, of course, you should see the doctor straight away.

Use apricot scrub to scrub ur skin before u shave, exfoliating before shaving gives a closer shave n softer skin. Dont shave in the opposite direction of hair growth. Use an astringent after u shave. Dont shave too often, give the hair some time to grow to 3-4mm. This will give you good results.

Well, for a while after it first appeared it was sore. Then it stopped being sore. Now, in a way, it's shrunken since then and maybe has broken more into two parts, but I can't be sure. Just makes it harder for me to shave that area.

It does sound like a cyst of some sort.
-
how big is or was the cyst?
-
Well, since it's sort of like two, the larger one is... maybe half a centimeter in diameter? It's hard to tell, since that measurement includes the skin I'd have to grab. So minus the skin, it might be more like 3 or 2 mm.
