Ok this started a few months back. Every once in a while I'll get a lump on the inside of my lip, usually my lower lip. It gets bigger and bigger. It's a large whitish lump that is very smooth and completely solid, no puss or anything inside just solid skin.I figure it might be a bactierial thing so when I get one i use mouthwash as much as possible. I use it when I brush my teeth normally but when i get one of these lumps i use it pretty much every time I go to the bathroom. Since they are usually partly on the outside of my lip and I sleep with my mouth open they tend to just dry up and crack then scab over and it goes away. The one I have now though isn't near the outside of my lips though. On the bright side nobody can see it. On the bad side I don't think it gets an opportunity to dry up when I sleep.I know this isn't a cold sore and I know it isn't a canker sore. I looked up both and this doesn't look or sound like either of these. I'm pretty sure it's not any sort of cancer since it shows up in a different spot every time. I'm positive it's not an STD of any sort since i've only been with one man and he's never had anything like this before, in fact he's the healthiest person I know. I'm afraid I can't get a picture of it right now as my camera batteries are dead but i'll try to get some to take a picture. If anybody has any idea what this could be and how I can get rid of it faster and prevent it from happening i'd be really appreciative.

Large Lump on the inside of my Lip

I finally found something that sounds like what this lump is. Here is the wikipedia link for anybody that is interested.

I read into it some more. Seems I just have to wait for them to go away and try not to bite my lips as much.

Interesting - thanks for increasing my knowledge!

is it painful? What type of local trauma did you endure

good work Serenity. I've gotten this same thing many, many times and never knew what it was. Since it always goes away eventually, I figured it wasn't anything to worry about. Now I know what it is.
