ok, to begin with some background, im a junior and i play football, and i have a pretty good shot at being captain next year so i really wanna bust my ass off in the weight room. Well, my friend on the team told me a myth he heard that if he u consume almonds every day ur testerone builds up faster, so alot of body builders eat almonds and dont masturbate to basically spike their testerone for a better lift. Does not masturbating really work as natural muscle enchancer due to the testerone build up? becuase if it does, ill stop, but atm masturbation is something that really helps remove all the stress of school, so not doing it may result in a more stressful life. so any of u fellow weight lifters know the answer?

I haven't heard that one about almonds before. I have heard the one about not masturbating, but I doubt that it has much effect on testosterone levels. However apparently testosterone levels are increased by getting involved in aggressive activities like sport and exercise and other manly pursuits - the system produces more if it seems more is going to be required.

The connection may be that almonds are supposedly good for prostate health. While testosterone is produced by the testes, some may confuse that with the prostate since both are involved with ejaculation.

The myth he told you is exactly that, a myth. However I am heavily into football and working out, and I eat tons of almonds as they are natural weight gainers, contain lots of protein and healthy fat as well as fibre.As for masturbating, all those bodybuilders have sex, they get groupies, thats right there are bodybuilder groupies. So if masturbating hurt their muscle building, so would sex. It's made up.

I just wanted to add, if you are really worried about it, masturbate after working out later. If it did release any, by miniscule amounts it would have come back the next day anyways, just like working out.
