I recently talked to my coach about training more serious, putting on about 15lbs and going Pro as a fighter. He offered to take me to the Midwest now for a fight if i wanted to, as he thinks i could win right now but i turned that down.I told him i wanted to wait a year, gain some weight and get a little more prepared. He said thats fine, he said im young and we can take it slow. So at this point we are basically taking the year to add some weight, sharpen some skills and then we are going to get me licensed to fight. So by this time next year i should be Pro give or take a few months and i will be trying to get a fight maybe up in Redding CA, or in the Midwest. The plan is to get 4 fights, and if i am able to win all 4 in a row decisively and make a statement in the division i will be pursuing the WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting) for a contract in their newly added 125lb weightclass. The WEC is owned by the same company that owns the UFC, and is focused more on the lighter weight classes, its the biggest show for someone my weight. I for now am adding more training, weightlifting and cardio, and im going to get licensed and go from there.I always new id go Pro, i always new i had what it took to be a pro fighter, i knew i was tough enough, i knew i could fight, i knew i was born for it, and i new damn well id look good on the fight posters, billboards, advertisements, and most of all TV. But now that its actually taking off and is on its way to happening im a bit speechless.Alot of people stand behind me in my decision to pursue fighting as a career, and alot of people dont, and im sure that will be the case here as well. But it is my life, and i feel this is what i was made for and it is my dream and i am going to pursue it. Just thought id make this announcement here as i love this place and consider it to do like a virtual home, i can always come here when i need to and i really appreciate everything that ive gotten out of this place. So i hope you are all excited and happy, and i hope you guys arent too worried

Going Pro as a Fighter

It's good to see someone know what they want and go after it. There will be those, however, who feel you could have picked a better career. But I say, if that's what you want, go for it!! You haven't given up on your education, have you?

No i am still attending College. Going for an AS in Business. Im now taking less classes per semester but im still going. I know i still need an education and honestly thats probably my second dream. That way if im ever to get injured, or if i for some reason don't make it big i have my Degree to fall back on.

So long as you pay attention to the medical shit, get the regular exams, watch the concussions, all that shit, I say if ya want to try for pro, fucking go for it.Just recall that there is alot of washed up fighters, back in the game late in life trying to make a buck well past prime and past any age they should be getting into a ring.Invest the money! save it! do not just fuck it all off and end up working comic book conventions signing autographs for 3 bucks a pop trying to make enough money for food and sucking cock for beer money on the side.Know when its time to get out and time to stay out. Also consider that fighting what you fight is more intense and damaging than boxing, there is a finite lifespan to a fighter, and that is even shorter in your sport. Get the fucking degree, you will need it sooner or later.

Its good to see you pursing this! Hope to see you on the big screen someday!!

Good luck!
