First off sorry for all the new topics XD.I read that sperm stays in the epididymis for seven days, before...well I didn't get that far. Now, if I cum at 8 on Monday then again on Tuesday at 8, both times i produce the same amount of ejaculate. I also read that once sperm is mature it goes into the epididymis.Question time.If sperm says in the epididymis for 7 days and it takes me 24hrs to produce x+s amount of ejaculate, where s is the ammount of sperm and x is the amount of other seminal fluids. After seven days would i have x+7s ejaculate volume.

Semen Production

This question makes my head hurt today ... I know I hated algebra for a reason

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to get at, but either way your logic is flawed. If the body kept producing sperm at that rate and you didn't ejaculate, your testicles would explode with the humungous cache of sperm they had produced.I'm sure there's some sort of supply and demand thing going on.I'd also be fairly confident in saying that it's not that exact a science. Amount of ejaculate can be based on several things in my experience. You also need to take viscosity into effect. Sometimes I will only cum a small amount, but it may be very thick, other times I may unleash a mammoth load of very runny spunk. For me it also depends on how horny I am, how excited I am and how tired I am. I have never "run out of cum", so to speak.I really don't think this is the sort of thing you can predict and plan!

Sperm matures in the epididymis for some days ( 7 days?) during sexual arousal its transferred to vas deferens, then its collected and expelled during ejaculation from the ampulla, into the ejaculatory duct and is out of the body.Whats not ejaculated is reabsorbed by the body (within the epididymis). And there are other factors to be taken into consideration before calculating. No you wouldnt end up with x+7s on the 7th day.

From the sense i can make out of the equation, after reading a couple times, your logic is correct, but wrong. say the average amount of sperm in the average amount of semen is 2,000 (i know it's more, but it's a scale term, almost), and the average amount of semen is...hmm how to put this.....2,000 units. by your math, after 7 days, it'd be 2000 su + 14,000 sperm. but, every time, the amount of sperm released is almost the same, so regardless if it's been 2 days or 2 months, it'd still be around 2,000, although viscosity may increase, due to more protein.make sense?

Spermatozoa contribute very little to the volume of the ejaculate.

Sperm production is relatively constant, and is not "demand driven". In other words, your testes will produce the same amount of sperm everyday (~100 million to 150 million for the average mature male), whether you ejaculate 5 times a day, or 5 times a year. It also takes considerably longer for sperm to mature than 7 days. It actually takes about 75 days for sperm to mature and be ready for ejaculation from the time they are produced. Once mature, the sperm have a life span of about 30-60 days stored inside the body. So any sperm you ejaculate today is at least 2 and a half months old. So if you don't ejaculate often, where do all those billions of built-up sperm go so you don't explode? Several places: 1) the body can reabsorb excess sperm that are not ejaculated - this is what happens to men who have had vasectomies, 2) excess sperm is passed through when you urinate (sperm will typically show up in urine after about 9-14 days of abstinence), or 3) you may have a wet dream which will ejaculate the excess sperm. The first one, reabsorption, takes care of the majority of excess sperm though. The fluids that make up semen are mostly "demand driven" though to a certain extent, so the less aroused you are, and the less often you ejaculate, the less prostate fluid and seminal vesicle fluid will be produced. Excess seminal fluid that is not ejaculated and can no longer be stored is either passed through during urination, or is ejaculated in a wet dream. But yeah, the total sperm count will increase dramatically if you abstain for a week or longer versus ejaculating everyday. But don't get too excited: although the total number of sperm goes up a lot, more and more of the sperm are either dead or not swimming well. For best fertility (ratio of good, viable sperm relative to total sperm count), one ejaculation every 2-3 days is best.

Do a search with your favorite search engine for how long it takes sperm to mature, and you will find the 75 days I listed is the correct number, supported by several medical articles and research papers. 74 days is the exact number I saw actually

thanks.......my doubts got cleared
