Figured we could use a lighter topic in this forum.Anyone else watching this season? Here's my break down of the top 13.Lil Rounds: Personally I think she’s over hyped. I really did not like her performance tonight I found it rather boring. I will say the girl can sing, but really she does not deserve the hype the judges give her. But I predict she’ll be safe.Scott McIntyre: I personally enjoyed his rendition of the song. Maybe because I’m a huge MJ fan, I knew this song and have always love the song. Did he have some pitch issues tonight, sure but I think ALL the contestant had some pitch issues. My prediction Scotty will be safe. Danny Gokey: I thought he sounded amazing tonight and I personally liked the goofy dancing. I’d rather he be himself than be fake. Danny will be safe tonight.Michael Sarver: Sorry didn’t like any of this performance tonight. He’s a nice sweet guy, but I’d say he’s in trouble tonight… I’ll go as far as to say he’ll be the one going home.Jasmine Murray: I feel bad for the girl; I just don’t think she’s ready for the competition. I think if she would have waited a couple more years she would be amazing! Sadly I think she’s another contestant in trouble tonight.Kris Allen: I enjoyed his performance, and I even liked the guitar sound he added to the song. He was better than I was expecting. He should be fine tonight.Allison Iraheta: I love this girl! She’s quickly becoming one of my favorites this season. I loved her rendition of “Give in to Me”. I hope she stays true to herself and keeps on rockin! We’ll be seeing her for many weeks to come. Anoop Desai: What can I say… I like the guy but not a smart song choice. Was it as bad as the judges said… yeah pretty much. But the guy has personality! I think he might be in trouble, but I expect to see him back next week. Jorge Nunez: The boy has amazing vocals, but bad song choice! It was boring, not much more you can say about it. I expect to see him around next week though. (Though why did they put so much makeup on him! It looked horrid!)Megan Joy Corkrey: Oh Megan! She’s a total cutie and I simply just love watching her and her goofy little dancing… but what a horrid song choice. Putting all the aside she sounded very nice. I think she’ll be in trouble tonight, but hoping to see her again next week.Adam Lambert: I like this guy and he’s probably one of my favorite…BUT the performance was on the verge of screaming.. okay it was past screaming in some parts. He completely over sang the song. But I still some how still enjoyed it. He’ll be around for weeks to come.Matt Giraud: I liked his performance, not much more can really be said. He needs to watch some of his notes, comes off sounding like a goat in some areas. He looks more comfortable behind the piano. He should be safe.Alexis Grace: I love that she picked “Dirty Diana”, I think the song suits her. It was sexy and I totally adore her. I expect her to be safe.Bottom Three: Michael Sarver, Jasmine Murray, and Megan Corkery. Going home I am to say Jasmine Murray and Michael Sarver. Though wouldn't be surprised to see Anoop in the bottom list, though would be shocked to see him leave.

American Idol Season 8

Problem with me is i like all the contestants so its hard to see any of them go home. If i had to guess id say Michael, Jasmine and Anoop are in trouble like you said. I thought Alexis did good and i was surprised at the judges feedback, or should i say the lack of it.
My top 3 people that i like and would love to see make it so far are Danny, Scott and Anoop just based on personality. I predict Adam to take the whole thing and probably rather easily. The judges seem to be in love with him and i think he has alot going for him at the moment.
-
So what do you think the surprise tonight is all about?I'm guessing they are going to set it up like "So You Think You Can Dance", where America votes for the bottom three than the contestants have a "Dance Off" to save their place... or in this can a "Sing Off". I'm actually kind of hoping they do this, though I can see potential problems if it starts becoming a popularity contest among the judges.

My 2 cents:Lil Rounds: I think she's a great singer, one of the best. But I agree with Eddie that she can get really boring really quick.Scott McIntyre: I'm sorry folks, but it's time for him to go home. Yeah, he's overcome obstacles and he's a nice guy. But it's time to stop giving him points for being blind. He's mediocre. And I'm sure, at the end of the day, all the patronizing does him little good. Danny Gokey: Amazing! This guy is top of the heap. And actually thought he moved pretty well. I'm glad they got beyond the weepy losing-his-wife story. That only took away from his talent. I was kind of slow getting on board with this guy, but I think he's the best of the bunch. By far.Michael Sarver: Once again, I agree with Eddie. Of course, I don't think he should have been in the top 13 at all. He's boring. His Mr. Nice Guy schtick is tired.Jasmine Murray: Way out of her league. Nuff said.Kris Allen: Last night wasn't the best I've heard from him, but I like him a lot. His image will surely help. Even a straight guy like me can recognize a good looking guy when I see it. So that'll help. Plus he's just really talented.Allison Iraheta: HOT! Her performance last night was one of those that at first I was like "meh..." but then all of a sudden I realized "Dang! This is amazing!" She's the best of the girls.Anoop Desai: I've liked Anoop a lot up until now. But the frat boy image has to go. And a little humility wouldn't help. He's a great singer, but he needs to start choosing songs that show how well he can sing, not just how much of a cool-hip-R&B-frat-boy he is. (My friend Adam actually thinks he's riding a Slumdog Millionaire popularity train. I don't know about all that...)Jorge Nunez: Time for him to go. Hormonal and boring.Megan Joy Corkrey: I like her before, but not so much the last couple of weeks. If she starts actually singing and stops this cutesy Corinne Bailey-Rae crap, she might redeem herself. (Which would be great, cause she's hella cute!)Adam Lambert: One trick pony. And it can pretty quickly become a boring trick. I predict he will start taking the judges slobber-fest comments too seriously, become overly confident, and self-implode. I'm anxious for that day.Matt Giraud: Absolutely amazing. This guy is a real singer and a real musician. He's shown a willingness to be versatile. I am really looking forward to seeing what else he does.Alexis Grace: Wasn't crazy about her last night, especially compared to her last performance. She's another one that could get overly confident if she's not careful. But I like her.Who should be bottom three: Actually, they should pull another loo-loo and have a bottom four: Scott, Jorge, Jasmine & Michael.Who should go home: Scott & JasmineAs for the "surprise", I think they will announce a new system by which the judges will have some say in who goes home. Like the public picks the bottom 3 and the judges pick which of the 3 go home. I actually hope they do that. Prevents Sanjaya from ever happening again.

I guess one out of two wasn't bad I liked Jasmine as well but when it comes down to it she just wasn't ready for the competition. I still think if she would have waited a couple more years she would have been outstanding.Though I was expecting Michael Sarver, I'm not overly surprised about Jorge. I liked Jorge but it was just a really bad song choice. Not sure why the contestants on this show never understand the importance of song choice.I’m very happy Megan will be back next week! Now I just hope she redeems herself. Now on to the "Big Change" to the show... I am disappointed. Basically the judges get to give out one "Get Out of Jail Free Card" the whole season. Bleh! I was hoping for what I described above. Now THAT would have been a big change… and a more than welcomed change! Guess we'll just have to see how this plays out, though not expecting it to really "shake" things up.

I, proudly, have never seen even a second of fuckin' Idol.
I can't stand watching a bunch of no talent humps trying to sing. They sway and get all emotional and shit it's fuckin' embarrassing. I wanna crawl into a dark corner and hide for the dumb fucks.
Stupid ass bunch of fuckin' singin' hacks.
-
Well...
since you never seen "a second of fuckin' Idol" how would you even know??
Every season there are a couple of contestants that just don't really deserve to be on the show (*coughsanjayacough), but there are contestant that really just blow your mind when they sing. Like Allison this season, she's like a mix of "Heart" and "Melissa Etheridge" and she's only 16! She's amazing, I have high hopes for her.
-
I'ld be more impressed if they blew something else while they sang... of course it might be more of a hum then.Maybe that's my problem I have no idea who Heart or Mellisa Etheridge are. I don't know, I just can't watch people sing. It's one thing on the radio or in a video but to get up on stage and sing, I can't take it.
-
And just incase you are interest Scotty, here are her last two performances:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZCZf_WobpM "Alone" by Heart (sorry had to replace my original link, for whatever reason all the good onces of her singing were deleted so I had to post this one of just her vocals and a picture of her... it sucks but her voice is still amazing)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB4IlfhWuSs "Give in to Me" Michael Jackson (Sorry you'll have to fast forward a little on this one, could find one without the beginning talking crap lol)
"Alone" was just awesome (At least I think so, especially for a 16 year old! It's a HUGE song!)
-
I wish I could make that claim, but flipping channels...I have seen a few seconds here and there before I change it, sometimes you just do not know thats what it is. I have never willingly sat through any of idol.THAT is something I am proud of
-
Fuck I even flip when they show a commercial for it but then again I flip the TV whenever a commercial comes on. That's one reason why Lecia watches TV in the other room now.
-
No sound card here Eddie. Doesn't sound like my kind of shit anyway. I generally like something with a lot more hate in it. If it lacks the hate it better be Ray, Sammie, Deano, Frank, Satchmo, Billie, Ella or somebody like that.
-
Mmm I dunno I think Allison's version of "Give in to Me" was actually a bit on the dark side, I think even the judges commented about it being on the dark side, which is why I think I liked it.And damn it Scotty, get a sound card! hehe
-
It would half to be pretty damn dark for me. As rule of thumb I don't like most women singers, though there are a good many exception to that thumb. Well, I don't like women singers in anything other than Jazz. I can only think of two women singers I like, off the top of my head... well three, the Cranberries lady, the Dresden Dolls lady and the Evanescence lady.

Anoop was really good, but he's incredibly cocky.

Lil Rounds: Again I think this girl is over hyped. I did not like her performance last night at all. There were a few good notes, but in general I thought it was bad and forgettable.
Scott McIntyre: I liked it. I'm still a fan of the guy. He's very passionate about his music and you can feel that when he sings. I do agree A LITTLE with Paula on the fact I hope he does more than just play a piano every week but to be fair Scott is blinde so it's not like he get up and work the stage like the other contestants. If I had to choose between Scotty sitting behind a piano or just standing there and singing I'd rather see him play the piano.
Danny Gokey: Not his best night, but I still enjoyed it. As always be brought it home in the end. Though I have never been one to enjoy current Idol contestants covering past Idol winners music.
Michael Sarver: Simply didn't like it, thought it sounded a mess, but I give the guy props that he remember all the words to that song!! That in itself is pretty impressive; its not an easy song. Another rather forgettable performance.
Kris Allen: The boy was good tonight! I really enjoyed his vocals, and as always he was looking good :). He's deff killin the girls (And probably some boys lol) with that smile hehe.
**Allison Iraheta: ** Thought she was awesome tonight. She always finds a way to make a song her own by adding a little rock feel to it.
Anoop Desai: Well Mr. Anoop is back! I thought he KILLED it last night! He totally won me over as a fan again last night after losing me last week. Now lets hope he STAYS on the ball
**Megan Joy Corkrey: ** For a girl suffering from the flu she looks and sounded AMAZING last night. It was without a doubt the perfect song choice for her. Did I mention how beautiful she was last night? Wow!
Adam Lambert: I'm with Damien... I just haven't decided how I feel about it yet. What I will say, like Allison, he finds a way to make any song his own and because of that it makes him relavent to the competition. I will say I enjoyed it better than last week.
Matt Giraud: It was good, and I'd even say a bit safe. BUT he sounded really good! (Again not a fan of people picking songs from pervious Idol winners)
Alexis Grace: I like her... but anyone else think she had a weird funky note near the beginning of the song that she drug out?? It was just odd for me. But past that I thought it was a good performace.
Bottom Three: Actually kind of a hard pick this week, for the most part they all did well. But my picks are : Michael Sarver, Lil Rounds, Alexis Grace (Could be sub'ed for Megan).
**Going home: ** Michael Sarver
