So i got into my first fight last night as a trained fighter, this is the first time ive been in a "fight" outside of competition in four years. So im at my co-workers house last night with all the guys from work and we are all partying and having a good time, everyones drinking, smoking, and just chillen out. So my one co-worker (we will call him R) starts getting way too drunk (hes a bad alcoholic and he always missed work because hes too hung over). So he starts fucking with me and he pushes me into a bedroom and starts fucking with me more, he kept pushing me into a corner so finally i picked him up in the air, had him on my shoulder, walked him to the living room and sat him down and laughed, because at the time i thought he was just messing around. So a couple of hours later mostly everyone goes out to skate, so me R, and a few people are left back at the house and R starts starting shit again. He starts calling me a fucking faggot and a fucking douchebag over and over. He looks at my shirt and goes "Whats that say?, California amatuer DOUCHEBAG.." and shit like that all night. Keep in mind this is for no reason, we have never had problems with each other before, it was no reason at all. So then he calls me a pussy for not taking anymore shots with him , and i told him he needs stop drinking and go home and sleep it off.So he continues with the name calling and what not, so i just walk away without saying anything and i went and told another co-worker thats "R is being a fucking idiot" and that hes trying to start a fight. So R finally decides to leave and as hes leaving he comes and gives me a hug and says "I love you man, i love you" and i said "Thats good man, just go home and go to sleep dude" and then he starts to talk shit again and he starts tightening his grip around me and then he tried to throw me to the ground, so i back up to get my balance, picked him up in the air and set him down on the ground and got on top of him (in MMA terms in full mount) and i told him he needs to fucking go home right now. So he starts freaking out and saying shit and trying to get me off and i made him promise he was going to go home before i let him up and he said he would. So i let him up, he gets in my fave and i thought he was going to hit me, so i shoved him back pretty hard and he went from the living room and fell into the kitchen. It took him a couple minutes to get up and at that point i was convinced he was going to charge me but his friend made him go home. As hes leaving he goes "Your a fucking douchebag" and i didnt say anything. So i feel i did the right thing considering i could have really hurt him, i could have started punching him when i was on top of him or doing something but i just tried to make him go home. I felt like i needed to defend myself but i didnt feel the need to initiate it to the next level (punching). So now im headed to work and R should be working today unless he called in hungover again and i dont know whats going to happen.Like i said we have never had problems with each other and i thought we were friends. But apparently he gets drunk and has done with to several others. Hes very competitive and tries to be the best at everything, and i think he was trying to prove something because i do MMA. He even brought one of his other friends that does MMA to the party and told me that his friend would beat my ass (though me and his friend hit it off right off the bat and were cool, and his friend was actually trying to get R to leave the whole night.) so i dont know whats up. Hopefully everything will be cool.

Liquor does strange things to people. Some get mean and loud-mouthed. Others feel like they're 10 feet tall and can whip anyone in the room. I'm guessing that he was one of those. It sounds like you handled yourself well. I know you could have whipped his a--. Hopefully when he sobers up he'll realize that--if he remembers anything at all.

I agree with readytogo - it looks like you handled it well, using the right amount of force to defend yourself. It sounds like everything should be cool.

"I went to a party last Saturday night
I didn't get laid, I got in a fight,
Uh, huh
It ain't no big thingLate for my job and the traffic was bad
Had to borrow ten bucks from my old man,
Uh, huh
It ain't no big thing"Ahhh the 80s. Kiss me Deadly.
Sorry soon as i read the topic, the song popped in my head, a song i have not though of or heard in nearly 20 fucking years.
I did have to google the lyrics, I could only remember the first verse and the chorus.
