An honest question.

um, no one is disputing that the word is not in the bible.Maybe you could explain to us what message you derive from Romans 14.

It's nice...but speaks nothing about being tolerant of anybody or any thing. It DOES speak regarding judgement...and you would have to know the specifics behind the church at Rome (which you obviously don't) in order to understand the full context. The letter was intended for the church at Rome where there existed many different Christians...some who believed a little differently than others. This is what is being referred to here. We (Christians) are commanded elsewhere (Christ speaking):John.7[23] If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?[24] Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. We are, indeed, to judge things carefully...and God has already judged the homosexual act. Tolerance is not an option. The members of the church at Rome were picking nits with each other...not commiting acts God previously decreed to be an abomination (like the homosexual act).Romans 14 also speaks of not placing stumbling blocks in the way of another. And to sit and say nothing when a brother is about to stumble is just as bad as causing them to do so. We are to remind others of that which God has already spoken of. This is not judgement...this is reminding.

As a man of faith, you are exemplary. As a theologian, you are awfulsome of the bible is figurative bla blasome of the bible is factual bla blaand only you know which is which. Therefore, no one can argue against you yet you need never prove your argument.Scholars have discussed and debated the meanings of the bible since day one. You should let them know that they are wasting their time now that you're here.

For both you and unsup, I don't know anything that you two can't find out for yourselves if you put a little effort into it. Thing is, you're going to have to look in places you aren't used to looking. You won't find what you're looking for on athiest/anti-Christian sites because they're not interested in specifics of the Bible...they're just interested in bashing it. Most folks aren't all that interested in understanding well what it is they're bashing.

Maybe you should try to formulate your own opinion instead of regurgitating American right wing white rhetoric.

I disagree.Thinking one understands does not mean one does understand. You don't understand it if you don't read it. That's not an assumption...that's a certainty.
