So You're A BC And A Pedophile, What Do You Do?
-
You don't.
But talk to me, jamesters. Send me a PM. It sounds like you are struggling with things.
-
You don't. Sorry, I don't know what BC is, but simply saying your not going to do something, anything, sexual is often not enough to control one's self when the opportunity arises. A person afflicted with such desires needs to find and plan for better management strategies to deal with them. First and foremost among these is to not allow yourself to end up in a situation where your will, to not engage in such acts, will be tested. Second, I think, is being able to distinguish, and consciously understand, between fantasies in the mind and real world effects and consequences they beget. I'm sure there are more coping mechanisms but I cannot think of any off the top of my head.

A BC is a blessed child, which is a second generation or greater Unificationist (moonie).afraidtoask? Plus comme afraidtofap lololol!!!11 Everyone here is just too scared to take matters (their genitals) into their own hands!

Quote:Everyone here is just too scared to take matters (their genitals) into their own hands! Not exactly sure what you are trying to say, because I don't think anyone where has any issues "Taking their genitals" into their own hands. But I also don't think anyone here is going to agree with or excuse pedophilia for any reason.

Maybe I am just as confused as you are.. because I was thinking the same thing.

I read up a little on Wiki to find out about this "Blessed Child" thing, which I guess is some religious movement. But I seen no connect to pedophilia..
-
The connection is that a strict antisexual upbringing increases the risk of developing paraphilias including pedophilia. All important sex researchers have noted that, John Money, Gebhard, Masters and Johnson, etcetera. Also, Unificationists believe that homosexual relations are evil but they, and religious scripture, says virtually nothing about adult-child sexual relations. And so, even if homosexuality is considered immoral to Unificationists, I wonder if pedosexuality is considered immoral to them or if it's okay as long as it's in a committed relationship. Also, I made a kewl kewl kewl video right now! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4lIrFOJZNg

Religious definitions of morality have no place in the logical application of right and wrong within the constructs of humanity. Just because a religion finds something as acceptable, or unacceptable, does not make it so.
Right and wrong, much more simply, are about abuse of power and lack of responsibility. I believe, people on a primal level know this and that is why the construct religious beliefs to sanction their censurable wants. What better justification for a heinous act then the exposition of divine instruction and guidance, all be that exposition of arrant hominal origin.
-
To be devil's advocate, religion is the only thing that tries to place a higher power as the determiner of morality. If a strict definition of morality without a god(s) is taken, then a true morality doesn't exist. It's all rules based on the beliefs of one or more people. But people are all equal UNLESS someone places themselves above others willingly or through force (think Friedrich Nietzsche). So on that same token UNLESS someone suppositions there own morals above others, then no one's morals are correct. And on that same token, just because a government or leader finds something acceptable, or unacceptable, does not make it so. Many countries believe that cutting off a thief's hand is appropriate punishment. The United States would find it in violation of the 8th amendment. Who is right and who isn't? That's simple. The country that actively positions itself over the other country through willingness of control or through force, is the correct country. Until then, no one is correct or right.I understand and agree with what you're getting at. But this is something that exists and is even more true without religion than with. Religions have caused many great things and many heinous things to happen, but so has lack of religion. To only blame one is only blaming half the issue.
-
You seem to be saying that might makes right. Is that indeed the contention of your post? This has nothing to do with blame, and your right, morality does not exist. This, however, is about putting the principals of personal reason above the dynamic axioms of institutions, societies or faiths. Through the application of reason a thinking individual need not consult the contrivances of mankind to do what is inherently conscientious. It is through the application of reason alone that injurious actions can be rejected as acceptable behavior, regardless of what societal mores, secular laws or the commandments of Moses say.
-
In a world without a higher power, might does indeed make right. It is one of the only universal truths.Personal reason is reason. Its mental synapses based on experiences. These will always vary from person to person. Someone who's been through wars will be more accepting of harsher punishments than someone who has spent their lives near devoid of violence. The application of reason is the same situation as morals. People will reason differently depending upon their experiences, expectations, and even their current emotion. There is no such thing as unbiased reason.

I think that's a confusion of victory with ethical action. Just because someone is victorious does not mean that they acted ethically to win that victory. Even if the victorious write a history praising their own glory that doesn't change their past actions to suddenly be ethical.
The position that might makes right is like saying that kristallnacht was ethical because the anti-semites where the greater force. Victory has nothing to do with ethical action.
As far as everyone being different the one commonality across humanity is that ethical action does not require justification. If an action requires justifying then whether or not it is actually ethical is open for debate and that is where societal, institutional and theological judgment come to bare. Regardless of what those three hominal constructs dictate ethical reason exists outside and beyond their rules.
-
Ethics are mental constructs. Kristallnacht thought what he was doing was ethical, just like how pro-choice people believe abortion is ethical, and some doctors and people believe euthanasia is ethical. On the other side to all three of those you have people who believe all those beliefs unethical.Again, it depends on the culture, society, people and their experiences, and limitless other factors. But its not an absolute, universal certainty. It's just a feeling, just like all other human emotions and habits. If one doesn't believe in a higher power then the only thing left is that the happenings of this world and the reasons behind it exist solely in the random firings of the various synapses of all the minds in this world. There have been countless variations on what is ethical, acceptable, virtuous, etc for many centuries, and that will continue as long as human-kind exists. To say that ethics supersede justification is wrong. There is no way any ethical question can escape the proverbial "Why?".

I'm glad no one suggested that I might be a pedophile for bringing up a topic like this. Ew, that's so gross, ew, children are so yucky, ew ew ew!
-
Even though no one has suggested it, I'll bet EVERYBODY thinks it.
-
Yep, when it comes to knowledge, there's some questions best left unanswered, or the answer found yourself. Even if you're not a pedo, people will judge you for this question on this forum. You staying here is obviously up to you but I wouldn't if it were me.
