I am 24 and just finished the removal of my warts last week. Im living with my girlfriend and Im sure she's infected too but she havent yet have a doctor to check her. We're sleeping together but dont have sex anymore. Is it still possible that It will have more infection because Im sleeping beside an infected person? What can you guys suggest to prevent my warts from coming back. I disinfect my underwears and towels everytime I wash them. I can see another 2 small black warts just this morning. Please help.

How to Prevent Genital Warts from "Coming Back"
-
Welcome to A2A, dontknowwhattodo. The wart virus transfers from skin-to-skin contact at the infected area, which is why it can transfer during sex. It can't jump through the air, so sleeping next to someone is not a risk. However, removing the actual warts does not necessarily remove all the virus from your body - it's one of those nasty viruses that can stay dormant within cell DNA. So the warts that are coming back are from within, not from someone else. There is no way yet known to sweep it completely from your body, though with time (many years) your body's own immune system may accomplish this.

Thanks a lot for that info really helped me a lot. Another thing that I forgot to mention earlier is, I already have visible warts but we were not aware that it was warts we thought that its just some irritation or whatever and we had oral sex. Its possible that my girlfriend will have warts in her mouth right? And when we sleep at night we kiss each other, will that infect my mouth?
-
These types of warts generally don't infect the mouth (although I suppose it's remotle possible) and prefer the thin moist skin of the genitalia. My wife and I had a bout with HPV 20 years ago. All I can say is that you both need to be treated to prevent reinfection. It could take a while for all the infected areas to "show" if they ever do. If it doesn't "show" then at least you have some solace that it's not as infectious in that state.BTW after our treatment for HPV.. it never came back.

Thanks for the answer. But how can we make sure that her mouth is not infected? Because I already have visible warts when we had oral sex and its not once it was 3 times I think. Also what did you do during your treatment period of your warts? Can you give me some hints on what to do? How long did it take you to confirm that your warts are fully healed? It says that HPV virus are incurable. SO it means I will be contagious for life?

How can you make sure? You can't.. but I doubt she is infected orally.
What do you mean "What did you do?". You talking about sex? Well we didn't have sex while we were being trated, and we used condoms for quite a while afterwards.
It's incurable because they can't treat cells that are infected becasue they can't be seen.. They can only treat the visible warts. Generally once you killof the cells that are causeing the warts, the boady may be able to attch and shed anything left over, but how can you tell?

Thanks a lot. Im just too conscious and depressed. I always research for these warts since the time I have these. I have seen many images that they have warts in their mouth because they had oral sex even if their partners have warts. So I was thinking also of that. But I can see like a fleshy thing at the back of her tongue and we're not sure about it. What I have seen in the images are white dots in the tongue. You have home treatments? Or you go to the doctor to remove the warts everytime they occur? What treatment did they do to your wife? Im planning to have my girlfriend checked this week. Also how long did your treatment took? Will it take years?I really appreciate your ideas

Sorry I forgot to reply to these questions...
I think there are fleshy nodules on the back of the tongue naturally.
I went to the doctor and he treated me the 1st time and gave me a bottle of "acid" (Podophylin Resin- or something close to that) that I applied myself.
My wife was pregnant at the time and apparently pregnancy and hormones trigger the "ON" switch in the warts and they grew fast. She had to have hers removed with laser cauterization because they were larger and fast growing and the acid wouldn't be able to treat it.
I really can't remember everything but I would guess we were completely free of any warts from 6-12 months. -
No problem. I went to the doctor and he said there are no solutions that are effective and he suggest I will have cautery everytime I see visible warts. But Im thinking. Should we wait for a wart to come out before removing them? How do you use the Podophylin? You just apply it everyday all over your penis or just put it where you can see the warts?SO how long that you havent seen any warts coming out?

Well you have to wait for a wart to appear before you remove it otherwise how would you know what to remove? All over? Hell no!!!.. Only to the immediate wart and surrounding area and not everyday. I can't remember once a week?? That stuff burns.. It stings initially but after it soaks in after a few hours it becomes raw. It was supposed to be washed off after a few hours, but I didn't wash it off.How long? LOL 20 years
