Hey all! It's been a while... But Early yesterday morning, I got my tonsils removed (not my adenoids, though, because they were already gone). I was wondering if anyone has any food suggestions or warnings. I know a lot of online lists I looked up were stupid, because all of them recommended Gatorade which burned the shit out of my throat (both red and blue kinds). However, peach tea from Sonic is very gentle and yummy. I was also wondering if you recommended gargling salt water... When I got my wisdom teeth removed, and I did the salt water thing, it caused me to bleed.

I've never had mine out but I would generally recommend the wonder-food that is yogurt (normal or frozen to soothe)Make sure it's the real thing with live cultures. It will be good for your system, especially if they gave you antibiotics.

I had my tonsils out as an adult as well; about 6-7 years ago. I mainly ate really soft foods like mash potatoes, yogurt, soup broth etc. Just becareful with too much dairy, it can cause flem and last thing you wanna do is cough too much.. I remember how much that hurt! OH! and with broth not too hot.. I made that mistake, it wasn't fun lol. Lukewarm is perfect
