Well I recently applied for a medical study where I get paid to be in it, but they called me today and told me that I can't be used because I tested positive for Hepatitis C. This was complete shock to me as I had never suspected anything. I've only had sex with one girl and we were each other's first time, and that was over a year ago. The guy said that their test was very sensitive so it was possible that it's a false positive (which I'm praying and hoping for).I guess I'm just really scared right now. I've researched it on the internet some, but I'll ask here anyways. If I do have Hep C, can it be treated? Will I ever be able to have sex without spreading it? When I go to a doctor to get tested how long will it take to get the results? Is there a way that I can find out for sure how I got it?I know it's a lot of questions, but I'm really nervous right now. Thanks so much

It would be very bad luck indeed if you got Hep C from sex with that girl, especially as it is now believed to be only rarely transmitted through sex - much more often through blood-blood contact.I presume you've seen the wikipedia article. Treatment is possible, but is rough and not always effective.I'd suggest getting another test done. It shouldn't take too long to get results.
