Hey guys been a while since I have posted anything. I just have 2 questions..1. Last university semester I was really stressed out and ultimately I gained a bit of weight to bring me to about 180 lbs (I'm about 6'00" and also prior to college, I was very active playing in varsity team sports so my weight was about 140-150). After the semester ended in December, I destressed as much as I could by spending time with my wife and son and I tried to exercise a little bit, while watching what I ate of course. My weight burned off extremely quick, 20 pounds in less than 4 weeks. Well 3 weeks ago the spring semester started up again, and I've been feeling extremely active for some reason. I mean even in high school, I never felt this way. I'm always extremely hungry, I am always wanting sex multiple times throughout the day, etc. Since school started, I haven't been able to exercise much yet I am still dropping a pound or two here and there. It seems, however, that as a result, I have gotten a somewhat bad case of acne on my chest. It isn't A LOT, but it is slightly unappealing. I have never had much acne in my life at all especially on my face/back, so this is quite surprising. Could I be going through a growth spurt? I am still only 20 years old, and I would love to grow a little bit taller Nothing to worry about?2. I have never really been a huge fan of removing hair off my body, I always just considered it a bit time consuming and not really worth it in the end. Well, with this newfound energy especially for sex, I have shaved everything off my chest, back, penis, testicles and anus. I have found that sex is even more enjoyable without all this hair! I'm not a really hairy person, but I am probably a little more hairier than your average Joe, so removing all this hair especially off my genitals has made a huge difference. The only problem, however, is how irritated my skin gets shaving. Occasionally around the base of my penis and the area leading up to my bellybutton I get these small pimple like things which are a little painful sometimes, not to mention a bit unsightly like the acne on my chest If I continue shaving regularly, will my skin start getting used to the shaving and become more resistant to reacting the way it is now? For the most part, everything else I shave on my chest/stomach hasn't reacted badly.. Should I try any other method? My wife and I tried a personal waxing kit on myself a couple months ago, but that became an absolute nightmare for my chest/stomach area, and I would rather die than trying that anywhere near my genitals (the kit worked well for my back though). I wanted to try Nair, however, I read in a couple threads on other forums that they would not recommend trying it on anyone's genitals. I would love to find a consistent solution to this as having no hair is great for everything in general Well, I probably should have thought of this at first but could my chest acne thing be related to the shaving? After all, I am shaving up there but the acne doesn't appear to be caused by shaving. Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions (sorry for the essays)

Chest Acne and Hair Removal

Hi Kazak.
1. I don't know what is going on, but if it turned out your testosterone levels have shot up suddenly, I wouldn't be at all surprised.
Testosterone can cause extra growth, but you can only continue to grow if the growth plates in your bones have not yet fused. At 20 this may well have already happened, though it is not certain and some guys do still grow in their very early twenties.
2. From what I've heard, the skin gets a bit more used to shaving, but some irritation and small bumps continue. I have heard some people praise a product called 'Tendskin', but I have no personal experience.
Acne occurs when sebaceous glands, especially when enlarged by high testosterone levels, get infected with bacteria on the skin. Shaving could well help to push bacteria into sebaceous glands, so it could have something to do with it.

Thanks for the response Ineligible.Yes, I realize how unlikely it is for me to grow at my age, but I certainly have my fingers crossed! This Tenderskin product is supposed to soothe my skin essentially? Only saw some ads briefly on Google right now, don't have much time to really look into it.

I used to get bumps all over my arms/back/chest when I was younger and used spectrogel to clear it up (can get at drugstore).I would leave the chest hair.. trim it if it bugs you? the razor could possibly be irritating the acne.

It doesn't exactly bug me, but it feels so nice when it is shaved off. If anything, trimming the hair becomes the most irritating way of dealing with it as it causes my hair to be that length where it becomes pokey and not fun at all, especially during sex. But shaving makes my chest and stomach so smooth and sex is more enjoyable.I mean the acne doesn't bug me either, it was just strange I would be breaking out right now especially in an area that has never had acne before (or anywhere really for that matter).Well regardless, I have continued to shave like twice a week, and I think my skin is getting used to it for the most part. I have almost no bumps and my skin hasn't gotten irritated much. As far as the acne on my chest, well it has cleared up slightly, but I mean I am still feeling all this extra physical, mental and sexual energy as I described in my original post so who knows.
