Thanks all! I'm back, but very tired after an all-night flight. No disasters, but I modified the itinerary after I discovered how laid-back local attitudes to transport speed were. It was all very enjoyable, though, taking everything as it came.

Welcome back. We missed you. Did all y'all have a good time?

Yes, we did. It ended up being a very interesting experience. I've been used to buses stopping for bathroom breaks, but it was a new experience for there to be no facilities at all - the men line up at the side of the road, while the women go a little deeper into the bushes (if present). The roads were so bad one bus blew a tyre, one of those big truck-sized things (and an inner one, too) which had to be changed at the side of the road and then the spare needed new tubes put in at the next village, where they put tyres on and off the wheels with wedges and a sledgehammer. Everyone doing what they can with very little; most people living in thatched one-room houses, often against stunning mountain scenery; and such gentle and pleasant people.
