The SSRIs like citalopram (Celexa) can do this. The best thing to do usually is to change the medication. There are a number of antidepressants that don't have this side-effect. Unfortunately for some things like OCD the SSRIs are the most effective medications.
I agree, but you need to mention this to your doctor to come up with a solution. When I was on this drug many many years ago, the doctor changed my medication to Paxil and topamax. I was once again able to cum.Let us know how it goes
I experienced the same thing on both Lexapro and Zoloft. With the Zoloft, I found that the anorgasmia "lightened up" a bit after a couple of weeks. When I was on the Lexapro, my depression was so deep for so long that I didn't have any desire anyway, so I'm not sure if it would've lightened up as well. One thing I figured out was that I couldn't force myself to an orgasm. What I mean is that if you are used to masturbating or having sex every day or even every couple of days, that may not happen. But if you hold off until there's legitimate arousal, you might find it easier to have an orgasm.I know it's frustrating but, based on my experience with depression and SSRI's, I would gladly give up orgasms for the rest of my life if that were the only way to avoid the horrible depression I experienced.
