I don't know that the "problem" is any more common, but rather it's becoming more common for guys to retain their foreskins.
20 Years Old - Never pulled foreskin back before!

I'm only 12 and the foreskin can go behind the glans but then I get an erection and the foreskin doesn't go back fully
@colton Welcome to A2A. I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Is your post maybe missing some words?
I take it colton is saying he can fully retract the foreskin when soft but not when erect.
colton, if you gently stretch the foreskin sideways each day (not hard; you are just encouraging skin growth), it will get looser and this problem will gradually go away.
Man I'm very sorry for you & I can honestly tell you it would be a really good idea if you were to find a good surgeon & get yourself circumcised!
I can't believe that parents are putting their children through this kind of torment rather than just arrange for a neonatal circumcision to be done as a baby which is when the time is best, it is purely irrisponsible & selfish to leave foreskin on any male because the knowledge is there that the chance of foreskin problems is high & that many upon many males suffer in silence & do not get to experience the full pleasure that a circumcised penis will provide.
I grew up uncircumcised & although most of my friends were circumcised I had several friends that suffered from similar conditions & worse due to having a foreskin.
Luckily I had no such condition & my foreskin could easily be retracted while flaccid & erect but I decided to get myself circumcised because of the many, many benefits it brings.
I am now 32 & since circumcision at about 24 years of age which was well into my sexually active life things are now much improved in the way of sexual function & satisfaction feeling is much improved, the feeling of direct stimulation on the glans is much, much better than any feeling the foreskin can give or the feeling of it rolling on & off the glans & orgasm is also more involved & intense feeling with a much larger release.
Obviously it is also much better looking which has improved my self confidence out of sight & I also have much lower chance of devloping urinary infections & several other life threatening diseases.
The shift we have seen away from RIC (routine infant circumcision) which we have seen in some areas in the last decade will undoubtedly & has resulted in much higher incidence of penile problems & circumcision at an later age which will & is resulting in a huge increase in healthcare costs & load on public healthcare systems...
Hopefully parents will soon begin to see that they can save there male child a lifetime of problems through giving them the gift of circumcision at an early age under 1 year old.
@lee978 Well.... That's what so fricking great about this place, Right? Everyone can express their own opinions and share their own story to help assit others in choosing the path(s) they want and feel is best for them. Personally, I have heard the exact opposite argument from men who support keeping their foreskin.
Hi, I am 18 years old, and I have almost the exactly same problem as @DanielTheManiel ...
My entire life I never pulled my foreskin back... Not because I didn't know it was necessary, but... As soon as I was born, and my parents took me to the pediatrician, the doctor said there was a "tiny skin" that made me failed to expose the entire glans... That I would need to have surgery in the future to remove that "tiny skin", or have a circumcision... Well, I did neither... And of course, nothing has changed... But I could masturbate normally. Of course, exposing only 1/3 of the glans...
Last week I went to the urologist to see what should be done... He pulled pretty hard the foreskin, that I almost cried in pain at the moment... The pain passed quickly, and then I was seeing my penis in a way I've never seen in my entire life haha It turns out that "tiny skin" was actually the frenulum, but kind of "glued" on top of the glans... Shitty pediatrics that my parents took me when I was little, I guess...
Anyway, I had A LOT of work to clean up all the smegma... Was much more than the image that @DanielTheManiel posted... But I managed to clean 95% already... What's left is very difficult to clean because my glans is VERY, VERY sensitive yet...
Anyway, I can pull the foreskin, exposing the glans completely (even when I'm erect, but with some difficulty, after about 5-10 minutes under water), but only when I'm in the bath... And I need to stay pulling the foreskin down, because if I let go, it covers the glans again.. And when I am not in the bath, I can pull about the same 1/3 I could before...
What should I do? Continue pulling the foreskin in the bath every day? It gets easier as I go along? Will become less sensitive? And how much more or less I'll see some improvement?
What about the other issue, the smegma that is left... How do I clean it, if I almost cry of pain if I touch? I clean with my hands, or use some cloth, cotton, or something?
Thanks guys!
@backtogoagain First of all, welcome to A2A. It is good to have you here.
It appears that you are on the right track and, as a matter of fact, well into the process of stretching your foreskin. Since your glans has been covered by the foreskin for 18 years, it is not unusual that it is hypersensitive. Continue slowly stretching the foreskin, but be careful not to tear it. The goal is to stretch it and you seem to be well along with the process. Stretching it in the warm water of a bath is a good idea, and it should also help with removing the smegma. You might try a little olive oil to help soften that if necessary.
Cleaning your penis will have to be a regular part of your hygiene going forward as you want to keep the smegma, once removed, from returning.
Hey guys, I'm really happy I found this forum because I never knew the foreskin actually went all the way back. I'm only 15, almost 16, and I found this forum quite helpful. Fortunately for me though, the foreskin was quite stretchy already and after 2 days I was easily able to pull it all the way back, even when fully erect. I figured this was because i tend to pull the foreskin back fairly far while masturbating on my own. Althoigh after pulling back the foreskin, I noticed that the edge of the glans is blueish purple in colour, while the rest is a healthy pink. Is this just because the foreskin is a little tight still? Like I said, I've never pulled it back all the way and it does feel a bit restrictive and tight. Also I notice a section of foreskin on the left hand side of my penis (about 1 - 1.5 cm long) is stuck to the edge of the glans. I've tried pulling it back but it seems to be attached to the glans and too much pulling tends to hurt after a while. Is this normal? This is only on the left side, not the right or anywhere else. Any help here would be much appreciated. Thanks!
It sounds like it's a little tight still, but with more pulling back it should loosen up. It sounds like you may have an adhesion on the left side. Rubbing in a little oil regularly may help it separate. There is an attachment that should be there, the frenulum, on the underside.
Hey guys, I am 19 years old and can totally relate myself with others in the thread. It was around 2 months ago, I started streching my foreskin back. It hurted a lot at that time and my penis was sensitive too. But now pain is reduced and can pull foreskin back. I was having small white dots at under the head of my penis and worried about it. How would my girlfriend react while seeing it, I am virgin yet. Reading this thread I found it might be Smegma or penile papules. Smegma could be washed out, right? It hurted a lot when I tried to do it. So I am not sure but it seems they are penile papules(checked google images). Though they are not a lot in number, but I still want to get rid of them. Can anyone suggest how could I?
Thanks for help in advance!
Have a nice day :)
They can be removed by laser or electrical treatment (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirsuties_coronae_glandis ), but they are normal and most girls wouldn't even notice them, I think.
Hi, I'm 15 years old and have just recently succeeded in retracting my foreskin. However I dont think that its completely retracted because there is this red ring around the base of my head and it feels really tight almost like it is constricting my penis. Any thoughts? Also, since I just recently retracted my foreskin, I have always masturbated by pulling the foreskin back only a little so just the tip is showing. Should I be pulling it further back?
Thanks!
Hello, I have just under taken an operation called preputial plasty about 3 weeks ago now, it's worked I think (I hope). Well I've been retracting it when flaccid and just tried when erect and I can pull my foreskin over the head over the penis very well unlike before, although erect is a little tight but a few of my mates have agreed that theirs is too as I'm 16 years old. However, when erect or on flaccid, the skin seems to go clumpy like the picture shown a couple of posts back but I couldn't understand and it wasn't in much detail when someone had replied about it. I was wondering if this will some how go away? Or do I need to do something about it? But I am visiting my doctor in 2 months but I really wanted to know the answer now as I am concerned!
Welcome to A2A, Problem321. The skin does wrinkle up when not under tension--is that what you mean?
No not necessarily, what I mean is that the skin will be clumped up when pulled back, like this photo that was posted on here
http://i.imgur.com/O5a08.jpg](link
I guess you could say wrinkled up, but clumped sounds like a better way as it is literally 'clumped'!
The amount of "clumping" is directly related to the length of the frenulum. If it's short, then it will keep the skin from sliding back too far. If it's longer or nonexistent, then the skin can slide back further and distribute more evenly. It looks like the Rigid Band/Phimotic ring is somewhat tight in that picture. Otherwise, it's perfectly normal.
So there's not much I can do about it as it
Is perfectly normal? That link was useful and showed what I basically have, that has boosted my confidence now and I understand it more, thank you very helpful!
Another problem I just had, a girl was pulling my penis back hard and fast when erect and then I found out it was bleeding (it was awkward lol) I'm not sure if It was just a stitch or my frenulum had been pulled back to far as it was really hard pulled back and fast, it has not snapped or anything as it wasn't any pain, I just can't seem to find where the bleeding came from, it has stopped bleeding though which is a good sign I suppose, i hope. I just pulled it back to find that the frenulum had bled which I think was the cause for it to bleed, is this a massive problem?
