Hello again, A2A. I can't remember the last time I posted here, but it was years ago (I'm obviously not as big a worry wart as I used to be). That aside, today I found out that the guy I had sex with about 2-3 weeks ago went to the doctor about, and I quote, "Three red marks and swelling in my lymph node in my left leg. No pain, no problems, no discomfort." He said they ran a blood test, but the results won't come back until Monday. I'm assuming these red marks are on his genitalia.I have never shown symptoms of herpes, and neither have any of my partners. Then again, I know that some people never show symptoms. I am inclined to think he has friction burns, but the swelling in his lymph node does worry me...I know I should just be patient until Monday, but it's very confusing to me considering no one he's been with or I've been with has ever showed symptoms. What do you guys think it could be?
-
Genital Herpes... maybe?
-
You've talked to ALL of his partners??
-
Hi Isseryia! Swelling in a lymph node suggests some sort of infection, but it could be any infection, not necessarily an STD. It may have nothing to do with the red marks, which may be no more than chafing.Really, all you can do is wait for the results of the tests.

Thanks Ineligible! He got the results back on Tuesday, and they were... NEGATIVE! However, he told me today that the doctor still thinks he has herpes since there wouldn't have been enough time to produce antibodies. The problem still stands that no one I've been with has ever shown symptoms... And, I also figured out that I contracted a yeast infection.I've since gotten rid of it, but I looked up the symptoms for a yeast infection in men and a rash (red marks in his case, I suppose) is one of them. He said he told the doctor he believed he had a yeast infection, but the doctor refuses to think it's anything else and will only prescribe him herpes medication even though these symptoms are so general they could be a slew of other things. Should we be trusting this doctor's word? I feel like that's a bad thing to say, but it seems very strange that he isn't trying to treat all possibilities.

Do you have cold sores, by any chance? They are the same virus (though usually a different strain). It's very hard to say whether the doctor knows his job or is being pig-headed. However yeast infections are easy to treat with an anti-fungal cream and no prescription is needed, so your partner could always try it. There are many possible reasons for red marks.

Hello, I have the similar experience with you, and now I had been diagnosed with herpes (HSV-2). We should be positive and do not think too much, it`s a new life happier than before. Now, I am planing to start dating again, and online herpes dating platform are really good place to share my problem to all of those members here. However, I don not know which site is the best one suit for me. I found a site about reviews of herpes dating websites - HerpesDatingSites.us. Could all of you give me some tips?

Dating in itself is hard, especially when you are dating with Herpes. However, Herpes dating sites (a review site (herpes-datingsites.) provide the best place for singles with herpes to date without possible rejection and discrimination. Link Omitted) - Roc

I got infected 2 years ago and felt very bad. But I found Jeremy who understands me completely. I was afraid to move ahead but he gave me the courage to face the truth. I hope my story helps many others to face the truth eventually. Oh! I met my love at hromance.com.

Linda, welcome to A2A. You probably don't realize how many people you helped today. While the best thing is not to get infected in the first place (condoms will minimize but not eliminate risk), there is life afterwards if you do get infected. Herpes, though, is not something you can take a pill for and make it go away.
Your story will no doubt help someone who is troubled by the same problem.

When I got Herpes, it was from someone who pretended to be my friend for three years. He knew he had it and he really didn't give a crap about if I got it or not. He flat out lied to me and told me he had had a clean std test. When I turned up with it a week later, he told me to go to the doctor and ask them for Valtrex and herpes treatment. "You will be fine." He told me.
Needless to say, I didn't have a lot of faith in humanity or men left after that happened to me. I was too scared to date or to seek out a relationship, however my friends helped me in finding the (datingsitesforpeoplewithherpes.info), I had told several people about my new found curse and had mixed reactions. This site gave me the confidence and understanding I needed to be happy. (Link Omitted)-Roc

It is always helpful to find a place of support. Thanks for passing on your discovery.

Do not worry to much before you get his result. Even you are infected, it is not the end of the world since 1 in 4 American adults have herpes. Dating with herpes may be harder, but [herpes dating sites may help you to find more people with herpes for friendship, support even romance!

Love yourself for what you are, despite this bump in the road. You never know the love of your life could be a carrier as well, or may just accept you for who you are, and not what has happened to you. Try to figure out some the slight chance of potentially finding the one that understands, and has gone through the same situation.
