im a 24 year old male. I am pretty sure I have mulluscum. about 4 months ago i started noticing a few small bumps the size of a pin head inbetween my belly button and my pubic hair. I left them alone and started noticing a few more appearing. I then picked one off and noticed that it had a hard white center that came out. It then started bleeding. I stopped the bleeding and put some moisturizer on it the next day it was gone. I did this for all of them and noticed I was free of them or so i thought. I read that tea tree oil helps get rid of them so I went out and bought some. It seemed to be working because they were gone. a week later i noticed them reappering. I cant seem to get rid of these things. I read that they naturally just go away. How long will this take and is there anything I can do to speed up the process.

Mulluscum questions

I know the feeling. I am a 22 year old male and have been battling with mulluscum for almost two years.
i also was told that it should go away rather quickly on its own. So far no luck. I am in the same position as you in that they are located between my belly button and pubic hair. I also have a few located within my pubic region. But strangely and fortunately enough I don't have any on my genitals. I got them a couple years back at the same time as my roomate. We are both heterosexual males that never had skin contact in that region before but still shared the virus. Most doctors I have seen didn't have much of an explanation for it. I am curious as to steps you have taken to get rid of the mulluscum as I know it drives me crazy. Fortunately my girlfriend isn't bothered slightly from it and has never contracted it although we have sex very regularly. The latest thing I am trying is comfrey ointment, and I will report to how it works out. I would like to maybe stay in touch about this as I know it is annoying and embarrassing to have this seemingly "harmless" condition. -
I also have it. I'm a 24 year old female, and right now I don't seem to have any. I get it near my underwear line on both sides, as well as a couple on my upper thighs. I also had one or two in my pubic area. They go away as soon as you remove the center, but a lot of times by picking at them you spread it. Wash you hands before and after you pick at them, and wash the area with soap and water. I am taking Aldara cream, prescribed by a doctor, and it seems to work great. You are supposed to eventually grow immune to it, and not get any more bumps. However, it seems that I have had it for a least six months. I apparently got it from my roommate's towel. At least that's what I'm assuming, because I didn't have it until after we lived together at which time she had it... At first I felt very dirty and disgusting about having it... I feel much better about it now. However, I too want to know when it'll go away completely.

Oh, and one tell tale sign of molluscum, other than the bump itself and the hard ball inside, is the fact that they seem to bleed pretty badly when the center is removed.
