About six weeks ago, I saw my doctor for what I thought was a male yeast infection (I'm uncircumcised) and was diagnosed with balanitis. I was prescribed an antibiotic cream. The cream cleared up all the symptoms, save one. There's a small area of skin on the top of the head near the base that is slightly darker than the surrounding skin and textured differently. It sort of resembles scar tissue, I guess? The spot is painless but unsightly.
The rest of my symptoms have been gone for almost a month now, but I can't seem to get rid of this one spot. My health insurance recently raised and I can't afford to see my doctor unless it is an emergency. I was hoping I might get some advice on what this area of tissue might be and how to heal it. My balanitis was mild and I doubt it would have damaged the skin so severely as to leave a scar, but I don't know what else this could be. Any input is much appreciated!
