Hi.
embarrassing question I guess. I seem to have lost the sensitivity to my penis. It used to be super sensitive. Just thinking about sex would bone me up or feeling the cool sheets on my naked body when I crawl into bed would feel amazing and I would get hard. I used to get random boners several times a day and night for no apparent reason. When I would pleasure myself, just lightly touching the underside of my penis head a few times would get me instantly hard. Now it doesn't seem as sensitive. it takes me quit a long time to get hard and I don't get random boners anymore. I know I'm a lot older now. I'm 31 now but I should still be able to get myself boned up without any problems, right? Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something I can do to bring back the sensitivity back?? Thanks for your help in advance.

Penis sensitivity Problem

Hi bobb, welcome to A2A.
Sensitivity, random boners, etc, do get less as we get older, but in your case the decline seems more and earlier than usual. There are a number of possibilities. Sometimes our hormone levels are low for a week or two for no apparent reason, but I take it this has been an issue for longer than that? Stress and anxiety can play havoc with physical sex drive, especially long-term stress or anxiety. Being overweight reduces hormone levels. What you describe can also be a symptom of incipient diabetes--often the first symptom that guys notice--so you do need to get that checked.

@Ineligible Thanks for your insight. I took your advice and scheduled an exam with my general practitioner physician and explained my concerns. They did a physical, took some files of blood and urine. I received an call this morning with those results. Although, he could not specifically identify why I have lost most of the sensitivity in my penis he did say I was very close to being borderline type two diabetic and my free testosterone levels are pretty low. He noted I'm not severely over weight, but he said I could lose a few pounds. He suggested that I get started on some kind medication to help with the high blood sugar and wants me to start a testosterone therapy. He needed to find out what is covered under my health plan insurance first. He said that maybe all of this was related to the sensitivity loss, but couldn't be certain. I'll keep you posted on this new adventure. Thanks again for the advice and suggestion to have it looked at.

@bobb Very good to see you got checked out properly, Bob. I think you'll find that testosterone therapy makes a big difference.
