First and foremost I would to admit that I fucked up and that I am a dumbass. I went to a party Friday night (April 7th) and I got really drunk. This girl kept giving me drinks. By the end of the night I ended up going back to her place. We had sex, my drunk dumbass didn't wear a condom and I came inside of her. I told her that I did. And she told me that she has an Mirena IUD. But I still panic, and I told her the next day to get plan B, and I'll venmo her the money. She does and takes picture of her buying it and her opening the box. I'm still getting major panic attacks, and I'm stressing really badly. I told her to get a pregnancy test, and she agreed to it. She getting a blood pregnancy test on Monday (April 17). So my questions are what are the chances that she is pregnant? Is she taking the pregnancy test too early or no? If she lied about having an IUD, what are the chances if she just took plan B? Or if has neither? She said she doesn't get periods anymore cuz of the IUD. A day or 2 after we had sex she told me not to worry cuz she spotting, and that's what her period is like. "I cant get a period, me spotting is all i get. I got that at the end of december after my IUD and its the same thing now. It will periodically come and my doc says average is about 3-4 months. So i am due anyway." Her exact words. Please reply someone as soon as possible. I'm so stressed.

@solider76 OK, you made a mistake and hopefully learn from it. I don't really see how you have any other option than to trust her. There's no way that you can take a pregnancy test--it's all on her. She told you that she has an IUD and also that she obtained and took the Plan B pill. Why would she lie to you? If she has a blood test, are you going to demand to see the written results? I understand why this is unsettling to you, but I think you have to think this through, and ultimately relax. There are all kinds of things pointing to her not being pregnant, Only one has to be true, and they probably all are.

@readytogo how long do you have to wait to take a blood pregency test?
-
@solider76 Thanks for coming to A2A. As you probably know, there are two types of pregnancy tests--blood and urine, The urine test can be done at home; the blood test must be ordered by a doctor. Both test for the same thing--human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), commonly known as the pregnancy hormone. The urine test should not be done until a few days after a missed period. The reason for the time is to permit enough hCG to build up in the system. The blood test is more sensitive and requires less hCG for a positive test, so can be done 6-8 days after ovulation. In either case, it is possible to get a false negative if tested too soon. So it's best not to rush things. even though that leaves you stressed and in suspense for a few more days.

@readytogo thanks for the quick reply. Do you know the answer for the time period to wait after unprotected sex? She no longer gets periods she say's cuz of the IUD. So she going in Monday for the blood test. The intercourse happened Saturday at like 4 am (April 8th). So that would be 9 days after unprotected sex. Is that good enough, for an accurate result? She taking the quantitive one pretty sure.

@solider76 The IUD in itself is 99% protective. Remember that it all has to do with her cycle--no ovulation, no egg to fertilize. With irregular periods (for whatever reason) it is difficult to tell when ovulation is occurring. The blood preg. test is normally not done until 6-8 days after ovulation (tomorrow is 8 days-maybe). In this case you can't tell when ovulation is or was, since she has an irregular cycle.
So, I go back to what I know:
- She claims to have been wearing an IUD, which is 99% protective. (Why would she lie?)
- It appears that she purchased Plan B, and she says that she took it. It is 89% effective if taken within 72 hours and even more so if taken within 24 hours, (Why would she lie?)
- She's getting a blood test tomorrow, and the timing fits. (Why would she lie?)
In 48 hours you should be able to relax. In fact, why not relax now? There's nothing you can change at this point.

@readytogo I told her to get it on Wednesday instead so there can be a more accurate result (11 days after intercourse). I just can't relax because of the consequence. The only reason she would lie I presume is to calm me down. If you had to predict if she pregnant or not. Would you say she not?

Based upon the information we have, and assuming that it is true, I rather doubt that she is pregnant from intercourse with you on April 8.
