I am going into my first year of highschool, and i want to look skinny, but everyone tells me im not fat, i know im not fat, but i am chunky. im about 5'4 and 140lbs, im a girl. i know thats not skinny, and i dont think its fat. i'm just curious if it is overweight, and if it is (i dont care if you say it is, honesty is honesty) and how can i lose it easily? ive tried so many times, but either i am "busy" or not in the mood to go jog around the block. any help?

Eat better, No junk food. Not in the mood? You have to MAKE yourself exercise, all that is an excuse (Trust me, I've used everyone of them) All you are is cheating yourself. Wake up 45 minutes earlier in the moring and do it. Dont give me the excuse "I'm to tired", if you are, goto bed earlier. You can do it, just make yourself.

at 5'4", the weight scale goes from 114 to 151 depending on your body frame.At your body weight, you're just about in the middle weights for a large frame woman.

websex made a good point - it really depends on your frame. I dont think 140 pounds is fat by no means. I actually prefer girls to weigh a lil more than 100 or 110 ya know. When their ribs are pokin out kinda makes me worry that I'll break em haha.But on a serious note - just watch what you eat & do cardio. If you can perform some kind of cardio for 45 minutes 4 times a week and eat fairly healthy the weight will drop. I wouldnt worry about being too fat though. I cant really see you, so I dont know what kinda frame you have, but I would think 125-130 would be perfect. With proper diet & exercise you could reach those stats in a months time.

you can pretty much just look at yourself to tell. Some people have big bones. For example, I know two guys both 5'10" with about 10-12% with about the same muscle mass yet one weighs 20 pounds more than the other. Some people have wider frames, bigger bones, etc. Just look at people when you get a chance. You see some guys that couldnt be 140 pounds if they got down to 5% body fat, yet you see others at the same height that would weigh that easy. Most people have an average frame, but some are built smaller and some bigger.

like powerlifter said, you can tell just by looking at a person. For example, if you look at a guy ask yourself if he has broad shoulders, etc.

i have small body, but rather tall legs. about 2in off my stomache, but the thing is when i look in the mirror i see that i dont look to bad, but when i look in a different mirror, or im thinking differently, i think i look overweight.

Do what you can to make yourself feel good. Some people are never satisfied with what they look like and that's unhealthy. But if you see possibility for a healthier and better looking body then go for it. More power to ya.
