does anyone kno if masturbating really helps decrease your chances of getting a sexual cancer or is it a myth?

Maturbating and testicular or prostate cancer

There was a recent study that showed that regular ejaculation, one way or another, did make the cancer rate for some sort of cancer (I've forgotten exactly which) lower.

I'm not so sure about the whole cancer deal, but I do know that masturbation can be healthy.

I'm not sure of studies that say masturbation will prevent testicular cancer. However, that recent survey said that the more men ejaculate, the less chance they'll have of getting prostate cancer...I should be in pretty good shape! LOL

There's nothing proven yet. There is a THEORY that the more often guys ejaculate, the less chance there is for prostate cancer. But so far, this is pure speculation and hasn't been proven yet. The concept is that the prostate fluid may harbor carcinogens from what we eat and drink, and the more often you ejaculate, the less these carcinogens have time to stay inside the prostate and damage it. The concept makes some logical sense on paper, but there's so much that doctors don't know about the prostate, that I wouldn't put much if any truth to the theory. One example that kind of proves that the theory isn't true is that priests don't have noticeably higher rates of prostate cancer than the rest of the population. Obviously priests are not supposed to ejaculate (except for an occassional wet dream or spontaneous ejaculation), so if this theory was true, priests should have much higher rates of prostate cancer, but they don't.

If I remember correctly what they actually found was the frequency of ejaculation as a teen and young adult (20s) affected the chance of prostate cancer later in life.

Well then, looks like everybody just better keep it up!! For the sake of your health!! LOL
