AP Classes
-
Wow, you just started school? I've been in for 3 or 4 weeks now.I think people can guess I don't take any AP classes, but my sister's got AP English (I think that's it, not sure) and I know that she had to do tons of work (read lots of books or something like that) and write reports on those books which were due first day of school for a few tests grades. So yah, starts hard...

I am a fast worker and my homework took 5+ hours and I still haven't read!
-
I have one this year. :frowning:
-
What is it?

What's the point of taking an AP class if you don't plan on going to college? Torture yourself or what?
-
I didn't sign up for it. The school decieded I should take it  Get this, freshman year: passed all classes my sophmore year they try to give me all these stupid classes.. Then my sophmore year I fail and my junior year they give me AP? WTF? My school is pretty stupid.

What class is it?
-
I was taking AP courses by sophomore year in high school. They're all like that. They're courses that you can take for college credit as long as you pass their test at the end of the year. It's not one that your school gives you either. I hated it. I always had 6+ hours of homework every night. I was doing homework all the time: at home, in class, at work, on the bus on the way to softball games, DURING the game when I wasn't behind the plate. I hated it. It was a disaster. I work pretty fast too but some of my teacher were just gung ho about the whole thing. So yeah, they're pretty much a pain in the ass but they're worth if you pass the comprehensive final at the end of the year.

Thank you, but I already knew that! I took AP's klast year, my sophmore year, but only AP Bio and AP math Analysis.
-
I took AP Comp Sci, AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB, AP US Government, and AP English Liturature, and I honestly can't see what you all are complaining about. Whether or not the class kills your social life really doesn't matter in my opinion; I saved nearly a semester of work once I got into college with all my AP credit. That means I won't have to pay as much tuition in the long run, 'cause I've already got those classes taken care of. That really helps when you're poor like me. ^_^;; I've also met so many people here who wished they'd taken more AP classes in HS, so I'd advise all of you (if you're planning on attending college) to take as many as possible and do as well as you can, it really pays off in the long run despite the temporary frustration it'll give you.

This year I am taking AP Stat(easier than Ap MA), AP Physics, AP US History, and AP English 11.
-
I may be taking AP European History this year. (I'm entering my sophmore year.) I don't believe my GPA is high enough though, although I got verified by the AP teacher and everything. :frowning:
I've heard almost all the homework in AP classes are essays, is that true?
Also, my school has a thing where even if you recieved F's all year round in the class, if you pass the final exam with a 3, 4 or 5 you're grades are automatically changed to A's. Alittle unfair if you ask me..
-
I took some in high school. They're a lot of work, but that's what you're going to be faced with in college. If anyone is infested with work this year it's me...I'm taking 6 classes this semester.
-
Last year i took AP Biology and This year (school starts in a week) i'm taking AP Calc and AP Pyschology. My school doesn't really take these classes serious and my AP Bio class was easier than my regular and honors classes. ITs no wonder why everyone at my school has above a 4.0 on a 4.0 scale.

19 hours...five classes are 3 credit hours and one is four because of a mini lab, and i'm working part time
-
19 hours of what? Sorry if that's a dumb question
-
19 credit hours, i'm taking 3 marketing classes, one international business class, and two management classes
