Back/Arm/Chest acne
-
Two hairs sometimes do come out of the same follicle. It's normal, though it can make it look like a very thick hair there.
-
Since you are suffering from body acne, topical creams can be a hassle. Perhaps you could try seeing someone for oral medication. Is that realistic in your situation?
-
Yeah, oral medication might be the best way to go. Just remember that most over-ther-counter stuff usually doesn't do the job. A while ago I started using something the dermatolagist (spelling?) gave me. It's call Teteromin or something... It's not that, but it's close. Anyway, that stuff worked pretty damn well on me. It takes a few weeks for it to take visible effect after first starting to use it, but it's worth it. I'm not saying I don't have any acne though. It's just alot better, and not much of a problem anymore.

how old are you? couldn't this just be puberty?
-
In reply to: how old are you? couldn't this just be puberty? That's no excuse to have to live with it! After spending my entire teen years with acne, I am SCARRED FOR LIFE (both physically AND emotionally). Don't ever live with it and hope you grow out of it, my mom is in her 40's and still gets acne.
-
Some acne is hereditary. My mom still gets some small acne in her forties as well. But why did you let acne scar you for life? it's something that you couldn't control. would you let all things in your life that are not perfect and beyond your control scar you and forever haunt you?
-
Bad acne can cause scars. No matter how you look at it, scars remind you of what happened.I too have scars from acne... but mainly because I had an allergic reaction to some medication that made my acne get crazy. I'm looking into scar removal through a dermatologist. I hear it's somewhat painful and takes 6 weeks to heal though.
-
yes i know that they can cause scars. I've been on steroids for about three years...the acne that comes from this is not controllable at all, and as long as i'm on steroids i will have it, so it's not like pubescent acne that could clear up as things level out. Nope, not possible here, i just gotta deal with it, but i don't feel that one would let it get to them and let it govern any part of their lives.
-
well, though I have been struck down by disease and many other physically trying trials in my life, I still like to take care of my body as best as I can. True, my self-esteem is affected by many things and I probably shouldn't let it but it does. So I figure I have one body, may as well take care of it as best as I can.
-
its true that some people hardly get acne from puberty right? i'm 15 and hardly has gotten any so far.
-
That is true, AsianMan. Some people are luckier than others.

I know this might sound kind of stange but I had back acne pretty bad for a number of years (I'm 32). I found my cure with...believe it or not, the SUN. I realized it when I went the beach when I was about 25 and got a sunburn. After the burn subsided and turned tan the acne disappeared. I noticed that when I stay out of the sun for any amount of time the acne reappears so I go get a tan and I'm good to go.

this is irrelvent but for harry males does it mean that they have a hight testrstrone level or they have the 'hairy gene' (im lucky i dont have that) or is it a bit of both?
-
Perhaps both.
-
Sun is supposed to be one the worst things for acne.... As for the back acne it may because of school starting again and the extra weight and irration from carrying around a bag
-
In reply to:
Sun is supposed to be one the worst things for acne....
Totally the opposite for me
-
Yeah, exposure to sun was always good for me. I don't know where you got that info. However, if you are taking certain medications for acne treatment, then the medication can cause sun sensitvity.
-
I got this information from a dermatolgist
-
sun always clears up my skin!
