For all of us who have gone out of state for college fo you ever fell out of place. I mean I am from california and I am now in Indiana at Purdue and all beliefs, jokes, and attitudes are ass backwards for me. I mean I may think I am being nice, but for some reason I am doing something bad. How many out of staters get this?

I didn't go out of state because of in-state benefits but I do see a lot of change anyway. Luckily I have friends that go to the university nearby and they keep me company.I'm sure if someone from California came to Georgia they'd be pretty confused and vice versa. It's normal. I think a lot of people from Cali are actually more open minded. I could be wrong since I haven't been there for so long.

You dont haveta be going to a college to get that. Last powerlifting nationals were in Omaha Nebraska. Man was everything the different. The only good thing that I can say about that place is that the girls liked the southern accent.
I mean the culture was just different. People were mean & rude & I dont even think they knew they were doing it. Really gives a new meaning to southern hospitality for sure! LOL they were all bark too. One of our guys got pissed off at one of the northerns & nearly beat his ass. The guy was scared shitless. Afterwards he had the balls to say "no one fights around here. You're a maniac. We argue!" LOL, god that was funny.
Another thing, there werent very many black folk up there. I only saw maybe 3 black people while I was there (not counting the powerlifters from across the country). All of them were black GUYS and all were openly with white women. Plus fags were openly gay! They'd even try hittin on you. LOL, again we almost got thrown in jail becuase one of our guys beat the hell outta a guy for grabbin his ass.
I have nothing against interracial relationships or gays. What other people do is none of my business. HOWEVER, around here if a black man is openly on a white woman or gays are openly being gay - that's straight asking to get beat down. It was just a different enviroment from what I was used to. Not to mention there was no McDonalds, BurgerKing, or Taco Bell! And thats in the big city of Omaha. All they had was pizza & quiznos subs & a few minor restaurants. And good god was everything high! It cost me 9 bucks for a burger & fries! And good lord dont ask for tea. It will take an act of god to get some sweet tea. When you do finally get it you gonna haveta ask for an assload of sweetner cause they dont sweeten it.
LOL I could go on & on. But yeah bro when you move across the country it's definately a culture shock. Makes me wanna stay in the south for sure!

lol. I'm pretty much a southern boy myself. I feel weird saying that since I'm asian.... but anyway, yeah north and south are very different. Same goes with West Coast, Central, and East Coast.

That's hilarious. Yet it's not a bad thing. heheh.

I don't see that and I live in Georgia.

I went out of state for my first year (from northern virginia to florida) and it wasn't too bad. Of course life is going to be somewhat different thought. It's a different pace down there.

I am very open minded and I am amazed at how close mionded people are. Also it amazes me how white this place is. I come from an area where whites are the minority.
-
Yeah, my ex and I got looks all the time too just because I'm Asian and she was white. Sometimes we got even more touchy feely when someone was staring with that disapproval look on their face.
-
Here that's no problem. Whites are pretty much the minority. There's a high asian, muslim, hispanic, black, and everything else in between population  Lots of gays and lesbians around my campus...they're not even given a second look

The north or maybe the west coast sounds like a good place I can go. I hate cold weather so I guess my best option is west. California baby.
-
Yeah Cali. is very nice. I live near San Francisco, so go figure my open mindedness. I could care less about anything. San Luis Obispo is probably one of the nicest areas to live. Weather is beautiful and so is the area.

I once lived in Vallejo, but the crime was horrible.
