I normally find myself taking an oposing view to yours but this time I have to agree.I smoked mass amounts of green in high school an for about a year I smoked more pot then I smoked ciggarets and I smoked them at a pack a day. Iv been a constant user since about 1985-ish.after 89 I wasnt stoned daily and I rarely do it now, purely recreational use a couple times a year, like backpacking in the wilderness areas or skiing or a weekend with no kids and just me and my g/f sitting around an go hey ets get high and fuck!.It has never run my life, I can go with out it for as long as I decide to and at some times thats been 2 years or so and others its a couple months then its a one time deal for a night and its forgotten about for hell only knows how long.Pot is not physically addictive and thats a proven fact, it didnt destroy any part of me and people that think it did destroy them have problems aside from pot and probally shouldnt be smoking it to begin with.

Pot destroyed my personality? (MUST READ)
-
Fab - what the fu&k is wrong with you?2g = 6 bowls ? I was actually in school with a job or working FT+Any amount of marijuana every day for 5 years (or any given span of time) is too damn much. Tell me about your smoking habits, let's see if you have enough relations to speak for me. Wait, you don't.Each individual is affected by the drug quite differently. Spew all the BS you want but you clearly don't know what the h%ll you're talking about!
-
It is psychologically addictive.& you're right, some people are innately less apt to deal with the side-effects of marijuana.http://www.priory.com/psych/cannabis.htmIn my case I was also doing just fine until one day when I snapped.
-
mmm.. I've only been smoking a gram a day for 2 years. Some days its closer to an eighth. So I guess I dont know anything. Your an idiot. Start using meth. Its your kind of drug.
-
Hmm, well, I would have said the same thing 3 years ago. Let me guess, you're in high school? Maybe even junior high.Ignorance is bliss... until reality slaps you in the face.
-
Yeah.. Im in junior high. Actually 5th grade. You couldn't handle your drug and now your bitching. It wasn't the pot. IT WAS YOU. Obviously you had underlying conditions. I know people who have been smoking for 5 years. They are fine. I know a few people who have been smoking for 20+ years. They are just fine. Dont listen to me. Im only a legalization activist. I never thought to actually study the substance I fight for.
-
Lets see.... I smoked it the first time when I was about 14, maybe 13 and now Im 34, nearly 35.
It still has not had a great negative affect on my life an it hasnt destroyed my personality.
you do the math, its a lot of smokig over the years. Sorry I have to agree with Fab on this one, its not the pot, its you and conditions that affect you that caused it not siply the pot.
Some people shoudlnt do acid and go on a perma fry for life, otheres come down in 12 hours or so and are fine. Sounds like its you not being able to do the pot for what ever reason but dont blame the pot. blame your own genetics, or maybe your mental issues -
You are a fu*king ego-maniac. Grow up.You also never thought that I have looked into both the positive and negative (moreso the medical properties & hemp) affects of marijuana. You know, it's ignorant little a$$holes like you that give marijuana a bad name.By the way... I was dating a borderline/dissociative personality type person at the time I thought I was going crazy... and it's because he was often dissociating (which consequentally made me feel as If I were the crazy one... this is common for those who are in a sober relationship when a BPD or MPD dissociative is involved).I never did make a childish claim such as, "It's all marijuana's fault!!" No, I'm sure I admitted (or at least incinuated) it was my choice... naturally. However, the drug certainly clouds judgement and has potential to make a bad situation worse.Anyway, you don't care about the facts. & don't play like you do. Marijuana is your Lord and saviour. Not healthy.

Well hello, grvtykllr... nice myspace profile, hmm?So, I was going to ask you what you do for a living... but I guess there is no need, as you have listed "dildo model" for a profession. What's this nonsense?:"OK look, its simple noone wil read this and I shall refer to it again and again.Im a good lookin sumbitch with a huge cock so the bitches want me.You cant have me, Im retarded for Julz. I only want to lick her butthole not yours, I only want to bury my face in her snatch, not yours. I only want to blash a load of nut butter in her throat, not yours. the only darm warmmoist place Im sticking my huge man meat is in her not you.what ca I say Im retarded for her"You really, REALLY ought to recognise -- you sound like you're straight out of Elementary school... Then again, with this level of immaturity and your grammar being way sub-par, ideally you would be held back for refining.I've done the math... but things aren't quite adding up... possibly I'm applying flawed logic... OR! Or, you habitual marijuana smokers are deluded and oblivious to your own reality. Think about it (that is, if it's mentally possible!)."Good luck."
-
What are you talking about? You need mental help. You dont want to accept the fact that you had an underlying condition. You have to place blame on something else so everyone feels bad for you. Grow up
-
First of all i am an occasional smoker (once or twice a fortnight) and i have suffered little change but i guess that is because of my moderated use. Its more fun when you do get baked anyway because your very sensitive to it. I know people who havent been messed up by it and others who have been deeply affected. But i think its okay aslong as it is used in moderation, which isnt hard to do seeing as its not chemically addictive although everone's different.
And no marijuana should not be legalised, the laws are probably only there just so the drug doesnt explode to a size where it cant be controlled, also the long term affects are still not known as there mental diseases known to be linked to marijuana but not fully proved. On the other side of the coin though, i have the feeling that marijuana for now is like alcohol used to be and may soon be legalised once its affects are fully understood
And for those who want to try all drugs, remember that your brain is a very delicate and fine tuned machine, be very careful what you do with and put in it.

Hey there. I have been reading this thread with particular interest as it is an issue which is close to my heart.Basically it's daft to state that 'pot' as you guys call it does not alter your personality. It is a psychoactive substance and as such acts to alter the chemistry of the user's brain, therefore producing the effects such as inceased giddyness, hilarity, paranoia etc. Seriously though, think about it - there would be no point in consuming a substance - aside from those used for basic survival, food, water etc - unless it facilitated some sort of change. Put simply, pot gets you high, the effects of which are to temporarily alter one's personality whilst under the influence of it.In validating the above statements, I have a large back catalogue of personal experience with various illegal substances to differing degrees. In the case of pot, I am a habitual smoker (daily, many joints, although restricted to evenings these days) and I am coming to the end of my honeymoon period with it. It's great at first, but after awhile you do notice more profound changes in your basic personality, the most obvious of which are decreased sociability which is mostly due to paranoia. I have smoked daily for coming on 8 years now and I am very well qualified to pass judgement on it. I used to sell it on a relatively large scale and as such know many, many, mny fellow smokers, all of whom report the same effects following on from prolonged useage, namely personality changes facilitated by PARANOIA!I forget the name of the kid who started this thread but something doesn't quite add up about him, i mean he refutes the evidence of his own experiences (i.e. his own paranioa, decreased sociability etc) and also the vast body of scientific evidence before him also. I reckon he's in denial to be honest, it takes awhile to really get to grips with what pot is capable of doing to a person. Don't get me wrong, I'm not comparing it to heroin or cocaine, but to deny that it has ANY effect truly is the most severe case of burying one's head in the sand.Either that or sheer stupidity.
-
A lot of people I know who have smoked all-day, everyday for years take occasional breaks of 1-3 months without smoking when they start to feel overwhelmed by it.I like smoking everyday but it seems like an ordinary thing now and nothing special. When I was little getting high was like the most exciting thing, now it's just an everyday routine. That's not negative or positive, just a fact.

I can't read anti-marijuana propaganda without getting sick to my stomach. I did a huge college level presentation infront of the head prosecutor of one of our major cities and police officers. It was on the decriminalization of marijuana. No recreational drug is good for you that is a fact, but please don't we have more important things to worry about? Marijuana is so freaking harmless when compared to other drugs, hell even coffee. I don't have the information infront of me, but look up the amount of crap your basic cup of joe contains. Most of the anti-marijuana stuff you find on the net is either biased opinions or distorted propaganda. Oh and guess what I don't use weed/THC, or any drugs for that matter. Oh and I won't even bother saying who I work for, but lets put it this way, I have trained and still do to this day, with many of our countries federal law enforcement agencies. The general concensus is yea, it is harmless, but the bottom line is that it is against the law. No matter what my personal position is on it, I still abide and enforce the law of the land. Trust me, many MANY others who work for the man feel the same way. I have asked so many police officers this question, "would you rather respond to a disturbance call at a bar on a friday night, or a coffee shop(marijuana smokers bar)? 100% of them will say the coffee shop. They walk into the bar they are gonna get a bunch of drunk beer muscled guys, where anything could happen. The coffee shop on the other hand, they will receive a bunch of passive/relaxed stoners eating doritos and fully capable of giving the officers 100% cooperation without being agitated, or doing something stupid. That doesn't count for a hippie who is stoned believing he can play the guitar. Woah, anyway I coudl ramble on about this for hours and it is one of my soft spots in this society. In short choose no weed over weed, for your future and health if you smoke it.

in reply to FaBMX: You're an idiot. Gemineye was sharing his/her valuable experiences with others. It's got nothing to do with not being headstrong enough or any of that bullshit. Everyone's thought processes are different, it doesn't matter how strong you are though, if you smoke this long enough it's going to mess you up truely. You can't seriously tell me that smoking this benefits you, or you're still the same since the day you started, because anyone who says that are just too stupid to acknowledge the differences. As with gemineye, his subject is something i can completely relate to. I turned very skitzo. It got to the point where i sat in my room at night staring into the corner of the room scared shitless, i was fine and one day i just snapped, and it's not a pleasant experience because it takes time for the human brain to repair. I was scared of something that i saw oneday, but for some reason, i thought that it was in my presents at all times. My social skills were amoung the most affected, like the maker of this thread said, when you're talking you have trouble to say anything bout "yeah", "yeah", "oh right, that's interesting". Now i don't smoke it, and if i do it's a couple of tokes and that's it. I've been pretty much clear of the stuff for 3 years now (i'm about to turn 21). I can say i'm doing the occasional class A now, and drinking a fair amount. To be honest the drink is more of a social lubricant than anything.Anyone who's up for legalization of this, fair play. I think it should be legalized, but at the same time, the facts of it's potential should be stated in big bold letters to let people know what they're getting themselves into. The problem with people nowadays is that they say "DRUGS ARE BAD OMGZ!" when they haven't fucking touched them in their lives. What bullshit. We need to get the FACTS to people about drugs so they know the exact potentials of what they're doing.FaBMX: You really do under estimate the power of the human mind. When you are scrambling it with drugs anything is possible.
-
Yeah. trust me man, you will feel like SHIT when you stop smoking. You will feel compelled to stop your body detoxing and light up that blunt. Dont. You have already killed enough brain cells, aand any pain you feel is nothing compared tot he prolonged exposure to the shit your doing. Mara-Ju-Wannas bad, mmkay?

There is evidence, although I have no link, as it was provided by a board certified physician and addiction medicine specialist, that smoking LARGE amounts of pot before your frontal brain lobe develops, can inhibit the growth of such. Thats the area I believe that makes decisions and does math. Add that on top of memory problems and you'll see your classic "burnouts". My ex gf was a pothead since 14, and I was way more intelligent than her, not to mention if I quit smoking after about a week I was feeling more focused and aware, as to where it took her 3 months of not smoking and she was still having problems with such. Not saying its 100%, just my personal experience. So the moral of the story : Dont smoke until you're 18 :-D
-
Actually the frontal lobes, especially the parts relating to long-term planning, don't seem to be fully developed until mid-twenties, which would put the age further forward.
