Does anyone here think that taking Differential Equations and Analysis of Non Linear Systems is completly insane b/c I sure as hell do, but i will be taking it.
-
Anyone else here.....
-
It can look nice on your record. I took some weird ass class like that about 2 years ago.
-
well unfortunately it is required. Life and education come way too fast, it seems like yesterday i was learning what 5x+3=3 would come out to be, and now I learning Diff Eq's. Too fast.
-
what's your major?
-
Major: Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering (aiming for PhD)Minors: Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics
-
so what do you plan on doing with it?
-
I took a lot of hardcore math in college since I was an engineering major. Differential equations have lots of real-life applications (at least engineering wise) which actually makes the class interesting because it is less abstract.
-
I plan on using the PhD to get me a nice high ranking position in Lockheed Marting or JPL or one of those big aerospace companies.
-
If you're going to do aeronautical engineering you'll find yourself wrestling with lots of nice complex differential equations.
-
oh great.
-
Just wait till you get into higher level calculus where you will be doing integrals to the n-th degree. Differential equations will look like a cake-walk.
-
well Calc III is the last Calculus, from there it goes to area specific math, at least for my major.
-
5x+3=3x=0
-
Here is a good one:Adapting the chain rule to work in a 3D rectangular coordinate system solve the following:z = (x^2)y + x(y^2) ; x = 2 + (t^4) , y = 1 - (t^3)i will give answer after 5 tries.
-
I know ^ means to the power of... but what does the semi-colon and comma stand for?
-
just seperate things you need to use.
-
He's seperating what the variables are.
That 5x+3=3 was hard for me, so I doubt I'll get that one.
-
hey that is cool, that is what taking math class if for. I remember when I had problems with that.
-
It's not cool, I'm supposed to be able to do that in my head in 1 second.
-
oh, what math are you in?
