Ok, i know alot of people here are still teens. But if you remember anything great about the 90's, please contribute too! I have become so nostalgic lately (i think it has to do with my kids growing up, daughter is 6 and son is 4 yikes..i'm getting old, lol!) But i was a teen in the mid to late 90's, and i remember them being my "glory" days, if you will. So for anyone who was a teenager in the 90's, what do you remember and miss most about those days?I never thought i would say it....but i miss high school, my old friends i have lost touch with, and the sense of freedom and anything is possible that i had. The culture of the 90's was something really special, and i'd like to have it back...even for 5 mins! I remember the great alternative bands (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Bush, Live etc.) The whole grunge/alternative culture was awesome! I miss the long haired, ripped jeans, plaid tee-shirt wearing guys from my school days, lol. Beevis and Butthead episodes, hell i just miss the old MTV, when it was worth watching (seasons 1-4 of The Real World, will always be the best!) Well there is alot more, but anyway......before i get to rambling to much! I'd like to hear what you remember and miss about the late days of the 20th century.

-
90's were cool for me. aged 4-14, I think the most fun bits were the late 90's
-
In reply to: if you remember anything great about the 90's sorry the 90's sucked for me. hummmm in the 90's... i pissed on a cat.
-
I think everyone gets nostalgic for their teens. That's when you learn a lot about the world and you form your reference standards.
I thought the 90s was a very uncertain decade, not a good one to grow up in. The late 60s and the 70s - that was a special time.
-
People are already nostalgic about the 90s?
-
In reply to: I thought the 90s was a very uncertain decade, not a good one to grow up in. The late 60s and the 70s - that was a special time. The 90s were uncertain? I thought they were pretty optimistic. The cold war ended, the economy finished on a strong note (by the late 90s), politics were dominated largely by Clintonian technocrats (ahhh... what would I give for the glory days of the technocrats?), and music was recovering from it's foray into idiocy in the 1980s (sorry to offend everyone nostalgic about the 80s). The 60s and 70s were dominated by cold war politics and economic decline…

I see no one yet mentioned....THE SPICE GIRLS!! hehehe
-
Back when Pokemon cards were auctioned for hundreds for dollars. Or atleast here they were. And who can forget the woman who gave birth to septuplets? Yikes.

OMG, MTV in the early 90s during spring break. Holy crap. They actually showed 'STUFF' if you know what I mean. It was hilarious because the producers and people airing all of it weren't even questioning if it was airable. And I can't forget the early episodes of 'The Real World' or 'Road Rules'. Back when reality TV was fresh. I refuse to forget 'Beavis and Butthead'. Did anyone ever watch the MTV cartoon called 'Head'?I totally miss the Monica Lewinsky Bill Clinton days. I mean, while Clinton was getting his BJs, the economy was just booming. Not to mention the Clinton jokes were endless.Britney Spears first became popular in the late 90s and everyone went crazy over her videos. lol. She went from innocent to naughty in a few years it seems. For all you guys wearing pink shirts these days to prove your comfortable with you masculinity, you were just asking to be called gay back in the 90s.The early 90s had the best rap music and throughout the decade rock was great.Oh man, the 90s came out with some great movies. Who can forget the first 'American Pie'. How about 'Forest Gump' or 'Braveheart'. 'Jurassic Park' 'Titanic' 'Pulp Fiction' 'The Shawshank Redemption' 'Beauty and the Beast' Cartoon from Disney 'Sleepless in Seattle' 'Tommy Boy'. It was the golden age for Adam Sandler movies like 'Billy Madison' 'Happy Gilmore' 'Waterboy' and I'm pretty sure no one won't forget the first 'dumb and dumber' or the pure insanity of 'fight club' or how about 'Varsity Blues'.Before all the fear that 9/11 spread and before all the security you had to go through at the airport. Before the anthrax scare and before movie stars becoming governors. In my personal experience, before a lot of the girl's I knew turned into whores and drug addicts. Ah, the 90s were friggin great. I could go on... but then I'd be on here all night.
-
ah the 90s...what wasnt good about that decade?...u had the end to a bad president, the rise of a better one...one who may have been a bit too horny...but a good one none the less, and who could forget Bob Dole...the subject of so many jokes that election year..., and the absolutely ghastly incident where we all we assured the George MIchael was indeed gay...which we all knew since the days where he wore short shorts and tight pink t-shirts, and in the 90s...there was the beginnings and middles of friends (lets pause in remembrance), there was also suck memorable shows as Ally McBeale, Melrose Place, and of course... Seinfeld. There were also hit movies...but i only seem to remember...well...none...lol...along came a spider...was that in the 90s?...anywho...the 90s...good times indeed...

Was I the only one who played with Magic cards? Those things were awesome.
-
No, i played with Magic cards too I'd actually forgotten about them till now, lol. My best friend and me were really into it, i think maybe she still has hers. Maybe it's kinda bad, but when they were really big and all...we had a magic group that would meet at youth group on sundays and play! Maybe a bit blasphemous, lol! I also started collecting the Jihad cards (vampire series, was obsessed with vampires and Anne Rice from like 11-13), but for some reason it was pulled a few months into the making?
-
I have a friend that still goes to "Magic Tournaments" as he calls them.
-
man I still have X-Men cards. They are in mint condition too. Probably worth nothing, though.
-
In reply to: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!!! ok that was rediculous but i was only a child in the 90's i remember nickelodeon used to be good in the mid 90's, and house and dance music for some reason seemed better in the 90's, the Xfiles, tales of the crypt, pogs... were all good forms of entertainment
-
hell yeah, now it really sucks.
-
magic the gathering...ha...ppl at my school still play that crap...i personally think its ghetto...but thats just me...lol
-
I went back to my hometown last weekend and one of my friends showed up to the high school football game in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles T-Shirt. The first thing I said to him was, "I love your shirt, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rock!"
