Hi,
I heard that having unprotected sex one or two days after the period is okay. The female will not be pregnate. Is this true?
PLEASE, experienced people only. I don't want to be mislead by someone who just heard it on TV or something.
I want to be able to feel the real thing without having to go through a birth control surgery. Or have my sweetheart take pills or other things like that.

Safe unprotected sex myth

Technically, females cannot become pregnant one or two days after the end of the period. However, one should bear in mind the possibly of an aberration and the consequences thereof. Use protection.

Having sex one to two days after the period is not safe, and the woman can become pregnant.

Yes, you CAN become pregnant. I did.

Sperm live for a long time. If you're not on birth control there is always a high risk of getting pregnant with unprotected sex assuming you're tubes arent' tied etc.

you can get pregnant at any time
-
Well you can't get pregnant at "any" time. But predicting ovulation and having the timing just right is risky.

I'll have to second that "yes you can" with first hand experience.
There is a method of birth control called the 'rhythm method', and the point of it is to have sex when there is as close to 0% chance of the woman becoming pregnant because of proximity to ovulation. the rhythm method is "97-98% effective", when used perfectly. I'll add an editorial to that and say that the labor and attention involved in tracking your periods, their lengths, the start and end days, what day it is now, etc... if you do not have perfectly regular periods this plan goes sailing out the window.
I believe I read somewhere that the chance of getting pregnant in the day or two immediately after a period is roughly 5%. It's all a blur now- all the reading I did- so, I'd say that's a shaky figure.

I don't get why you'd be able to get pregnant a day or two after your period. I thought the time that you could was in the couple days before the next period. Like people figure it out so much with ovulation and if it's only the 2 days or whatever that it is going on, I don't get it!

The most fertile time is around ovulation, which is usually in the middle of the period. However, ovulation can be earlier or later, especially in someone whose periods are irregular. As well, some sperm can survive in there for a couple of days.

there is no 100% time during the month that the girl can not get pregnant. the pill AND another form of protection is always the best bet (you can use foam, VCF film, comdoms, or a diaphram). taking a pill everyday will be way worth it than having to take care of a kid when you are not ready. and, last, if you arent responsible to use protection, then you arent responsible to have sex...thats that.
