Hello.. I'm a new member and just wanted to see if there is anyone out there that has hpv and had it while being pregnant or if they are currently pregnant and have hpv? Well I guess I should clarify and say have a new out break of warts or during pregnancy. This will be my second child and I just found out about five or six months ago that I had genital warts. Two small warts on my right labia which went away easily with treatment from TCA and podophylin and some aldara. I haven't had anymore symptoms or anymore warts appear. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and just wanted to see if anyone went through there entire pregancy with out anymore occurences. My husband has never had any pop up and I found out before we got married that I had gotten them I believe from my ex boyfriend that I was with before him gave them to me. Just curious?? Also, does anyone notice increased discharge from hpv? I feel like I have more discharge since having hpv.

Pregnancy and HPV

My wife got a bad outbreak when she was pregnant with our first child. Pregnancy and the hormones involved tend to cause the warts to break out. She didn't know she had them.. Concequently I got it about 6 months later. Anyways, she ended up getting laser treatment for the warts as she had a few very stubborn spots. She delivered vaginally with no ill effects on the child. She had no symptoms with our second child. If you treat it aggressively, you shouldn't have anymore problems.

Thanks for the helpful information. I haven't had but the one break out of two small warts which was before we decided to have a child of course and so far no problems. I know they tend to flare up during pregnancy and sure hope I am one of the lucky ones that may never have anymore problems again. What is strange to me is that I had a few small warts on my toes and one on my thigh and finally got rid of them due to the fact that my ob/gyn treated the ones on my toes and thigh too since he was treating me for the ones on my labia as well. I'm one that shaves and I happen to shave my toes, my legs, and my vaginal area with the same razor. I hope that doesn't sound gross, but he says that may be how I got the warts to begin with. Either way I had them and my husband loves me no matter how I got them, but now I'm much more careful and use a seprate razor for my toes, legs, and vaginal area! When I first found out I had HPV I thought my life was over and thought my fiance was going to leave me and I had never cheated but of course hpv can lie dormant for years. But now I'm so thankful we are happy newlyweds with my second child on the way and his first.
