hi all jsut a few quick q'sive been diagnosed with HSV-1 but am curiousisnt hsv-1 the coldsore strain?.then if so how do i have it on my genitals and not have coldsores?i havent had any coldsores in years but have aminor outbreak on my penis?is it possible i received a blowjob from someone with a coldsore and it jsut infected my genital area?but then why do i nto have a coldsore?its really confusing me atm

Yes, it is the "coldsore" strain. You may not get cold sores because you have a good immune system, etc. People who are infected with herpes house the virus all the time. Once you have it, you will carry that strain forever. It's hidden in your nerves. Some people have herpes and are asymptomatic. (Meaning they never have symptoms or sores, but can pass it along to others by something called asymptomatic viral shedding) Yes, you can pass oral herpes to the genitals... Happens all the time. And when you have herpes 1, it is possible to have it break out on your genitals but not your lips, but when you have it, you have it, and your whole body has it, not just certain parts. For whatever reason though you aren't getting a cold sore at the moment.
