One day my Biggest toe was red and hurt when I touched it so I got the sharp piece of nail that was stabbing and piercing my skin out with nail clippers and plyers lol. Now my toes skin is peeling in the area and bit of puss comes out and dries.. When i get time to I soak my foot in a bucket of warm water and Dettol..When I touch it its sore.. Like somethings in there stabbing my skin.. I will soak it for longer tommorow and see if i cant soften the skin and remove anything thats in there. this has been here for like 3 weeks do you think it will go away or worsen??

Infected & Ingrown Toenails

I've had those before and eventually they will go away. It can be a pain for a few weeks though.

I have had ingrown toenails since I was a little girl. Two years ago, they both got infected really badly. My parents both have them so the doctor told me mine are genetic.I used to have to cut them out myself. When I was a little girl, my dad would cut them out for me.Anyways, when they got infected really bad, the doctor offered a new surgery. They have this new thing where they can cut them out forever! So I was up for it. Shit, who likes ingrowns??So I went in for my surgery and he drew two lines on the sides of each toenail (reshaping my toenails) and then he numbed each toe... It took me three needles per toe to numb me!Then he was like "Oh I'm going to get some lint out and clean it up real quick." (As if I didn't know he was starting to cut! :-P)And in a few minutes my toes were wrapped up in a bunch of cloth stuff and for a couple days I had these big cloth toes (my boyfriend made fun of me for that :-P)It took a couple months before they fully healed but man was it worth it!I suggest you get this surgery because infected toenails are PAINFUL and look DISGUSTING. Trust me, I've been through it.Now my toenails are skinnier than they used to be but they don't look abnormal or anything.

Hey ya, I got that to.... It's not really surgery its just they put some cream or some medicene and its supposed to stop the nail from growing. Surprising how far medicine has come

My husband gets them a lot. He just digs at them and puts otc ointment on them. If they get real bad he goes to the doctor and they cut it out.

Is it weird that I'd pick out the toenail and squeeze the puss out of the infected area? I know it hurts, but so does picking a wart out of your little toe - which is something I also did, lol. In my opinion, it hurts less than leaving it to the point where it swells up bad.

I can not watch my husband pick at his. It hurts me more to watch him do it than it seem to hurt him to do it.

I get them all the time. It hurts, but it's more annoying than painful really. You have to walk all lopsided and people ask you if you hurt your ankle or something
