Essentials: 21 yo male, 3 female sexual partners (1 unprotected sex at age 16), 1 male oral sex partner within past year (unprotected)Okay, just a question regarding a red spot I have on my skin above my penis (approx. 1 inch above and to the left of where my penis shaft connects to the body. Basically, on my lower abdomen). I noticed a hard bump there back in late July/early August; it was fairly small, but the whole reddish region was roughly 1/2" long, 1/4" wide. I irrated the region quite a bit by touching/squeezing it to see if I could pop it, similar to a zit, but could not. Eventually, the pinching led to a little blood coming out (probably by cut the skin in the area on my part), but no puss or any other substance. It was a little painful to begin with, but I believe the majority of the pain came from my irritating the region to try to see what it was.Anyway, I have not had any sexual contact since roughly June. At that time, I received oral sex from a male. He did not appear to have any form of visual cold sores or the like. He is clean, as far as I was told, but does have frequent oral sex partners. The red bump has now gone down, and there does not feel like a lump there anymore. The spot still is a bit reddish, however. No other spots have appeared on my penis, scrotum, or any other area in the region; just the one on my lower abdomen.Any thoughts on what this might be? I have not had any sexual contact since June. I do not masterbate very often, maybe once a month at most. It may have got a bit irritated with a few masterbation occurrences over a few days a couple months ago, but then again, I was touching/pinching the area again.I have looked over several sites regarding herpes info, and it does not meet most of the discriptions. It looks nothing like any of the pictures I have seen of herpes sores (it just gets light reddish... does not blister). Any thoughts from experts, please? Thanks.

Hey bud, I'd love to be able to help here. However, I don't know but it doesn't sound like this is lot to be worried about. If it were spreading, yes maybe. But since the swelling went down and it isn't painful (unless you're messing with it) and it isn't changing in size or shape...etc. That said, it may be worth asking your doc about. Could be nothing, however is it really worth the risk, sometimes by waiting we let things get worse. Besides, it'll ease your mind a bit!

it could be follicitis or something.... I doubt it's any sort of std...
