Me and my brother always wage war over this, any one who has gmail will know about this and occasionally on websites u get the same thing. Its just a thing to think about but... The goooooogle ads that you see on webpages and in your gmail inboxs are dynamically derived from a database of some sort queried based on what your email says (or website), however the debate is... Do Google actually read information from this?My brother is one that says yes to this, he says "if it contains informations about terrorism blah blah they will prolly read it"I say "It reads it blindly, retrieves informations blindly, no one is hurt"Things to take into acount is, your privacy and confidentiality can be voided by this. However my brother fails to realise that on any web based mail system, your mail is always stored on a server where admins can read it any who.Whats peoples takes on these dyanimc ads?

GMail and that dynamic ad thingy

huh  i think i'm confused. :smirk:

It's certainly true that admin can read your web-based email. Furthermore, a lot of email is scanned during transmission by Echelon for particular words - if the system finds it, a US government human reads it. (It must be a very tedious job.) Google searches its email electronically for various words or phrases. Humans wouldn't normally be involved, but of course if they wanted to they could include an Echelon-type program.

gotta love that word... Echelon, yeh I know, im about to bust a cap in my bros rear about it, but yeh I would imagine the only way that u can have secure email is.. by not having email at all .

They can look through your mail? That actually doesn't suprise me. I don't like it but they wont exactly be copying it and laughing with their friends about anything they read so it doesn't really matter.
