are the sabecous glands supposta secrete this white pasty stuff?
-
White stuff
-
i believe that's sort of related to fat...and i think, it's normal.
-
I think it's called sebum... It's just oil and ick, same stuff that's in pimples. Sometimes if sebaceous glands get irritated or infected they fill up with it. It's normal.
-
is there a way to get rid of it though???
-
sort of, but the stuff that inhabits pimples is bacteria...but, as far as i know, it doesn't bother anything, so if it isn't broken...

The sebaceous glands are there to secrete sebum, which is a white greasy gunk that is made as a natural moisturiser for the skin, to help keep it smooth and supple. The output of sebum increases markedly at puberty. The sebum provides a good nutrient medium for bacteria, so sebaceous glands can get infected with bacteria, and when that happens you have a pimple, a zit, and then, of course, they are filled with a mixture of sebum and a lot of bacteria.Sebaceous glands can also clog up, and that's how blackheads form.
