How do you know that the majority of uncut men dont have problems? In reply to: If you went to a message board about testicular cancer you would find many men who have problems with their testicles. Based on this would you decide that excision of one testicle would be beneficial (since cutting off one testicle halves one's chances of getting testicular cancer)? Your analogy doesn't really apply to this situation. Testicular cancer is something that is widely talked about in real life. The subject of circumsizion is taboo in our culture. I'd bet a lot of guys have problems, but its really not appropriate to talk about them. Some of you seem really bitter about being cut, and I'm sorry your mom had you circumsized. You seem to think that the grass is greener uncut, and they think the same about you. Thats my opinion on the subject, and I really have nothing else to say about it.

Would you have your child circumsized?

If you're Lance Armstrong. What do you mean by "widely talked about"? It's mostly talked about by people who have it, which they consider a problem. I doubt that most uncircumcised men talk about being uncircumcised; just the relatively small number that are having problems.
Are you trying to say that there are tons of people with circumcision problems, and they're too embarrassed to discuss it? First of all, that's wild speculation, backed up by nothing more than a guess on your part. Secondly you're saying that God or evolution (take your pick) really screwed up the design of the penis. Most non-Americans disagree with that.

WTF? If someone is uncircumcised and they want to be, all the have to do is to go get the surgical procedure. One poster, Roo, did do that (although he didn't want to), and you seem not believe that he feels what he says he feels. You're just taking it as a given that "cut" and "uncut" are two separate but equal states of being, but they're not! Why do you think you can make that assumption?
But if you're already circumcised, then what do you do? Someone has already made the decision on your behalf, and it's very difficult (if even possible) to reverse it.
How would you like it if you were forced to have a breast augmentation? After all, people like big breasts.
If someone wants to get circumcised, they can go ahead and do it. If someone has already made the choice for me, then what do I do?

Omg Let this thread die already

Why?

its just repetive, same points over and over again

Like what points?Think of it in terms of a civil rights issue.

Thanks for your opinion, I'm sure I'll take it into consideration when its time to decide if my hypothetical son should be circumsized or not.

yeah written while drugs were kicking in.. sorry for the incoherence, but i'll try again. I'm not sure who stated that the amount of people on these boards with problems make up only a small percentage. But I wonder how many intact males with problems haven't found these boards, i'm sure the number is much larger. But averagejoe, i'm sorry i'm going to have to disagree with you, I don't believe they try to put us down to make themselves feel more normal. However I'm not sure if they know that putting us down, can cause us to feel abnormal. It's two different sides of the same river, whereas said two sides may never be able to meet. Steve, I see what you're trying to say about the child with paint chips, and I'm not trying to start another arguement, but trying to imply that a child being fed paint chips, and suffering brain damage, as being comparitable to an uncut child is just outrageous. And a possible stretch by the imagination. I can't think of anybody who'd say, "wow that's insightful, that analogy really explains things"...But I know what your point was/is, and I understand it. Now let's see if that made any sense if it didn't so sorry.

In reply to: I agree with Java_Addict; let it die. no1sexpotinusa, you just couldn't resist, could you. I never understood folks who say "this is my last post on the subject" and "let the thread die". If you don't post to the thread anymore, then we'll know that was your last post on the subject. No need to announce it. And if you stop posting to the thread, and no one else is interested in it, then it will die. No one is twisting your arm; you don't have look at it at all. Are you concerned about the site's disk space?Java Addict, how about if you actually think about the topic and make a thoughtful addition to the thread?-------------------------------In reply to:paint chips, and suffering brain damage, as being comparitable to an uncut child is just outrageousYou don't have to love my simile; if you get what I'm trying to say, then I've made my point. Would you prefer that I said' "If a child eats paint chips..." rather than "You can feed a child paint chips..."? The idea is that circumcision and lead ingestion both cause diminishment in the child, but I was also making the point that they are both caused by the action of another person, rather than happening randomly. In reply to:I wonder how many intact males with problems haven't found these boardsYou're saying that the postings you see here might only be a small representative sample of the much larger group of males who have problems with their intactness. That's probably true for any issue. I doubt that we can gather useful statistics by counting posts, or speculating on non-posts.BTW, a Web site (not hostile to circumcision) aimed at physicians, in an article laden with statistics, says: "There is considerable evidence that newborns who are circumcised without analgesia experience pain and physiologic stress and hence some sort of local anesthetic should be used for this procedure."

Well I'm new, but I'm for circumcision 100%. I'm actually uncut, but the foreskin makes it really nasty in the bathroom, etc, how it gets all bunched up and urine gets trapped in there. Sure of course when you shower it goes away, but you're not gonna shower every time you take a piss. It just gets so gross and smelly, and even when you do take a shower it only smells clean for a few hours then stinks again. Cut just looks neater and most girls prefer it.
-
> most girls prefer it
I'm not sure that this is really true (it's certainly not true outside of the U.S. and Moslem countries). Given the downsides of circumcision, it wouldn't motivate me to do it.
You ought to read the experiences of the people who've been circumcised as teenagers and adults before you do anything rash.
-
Where could I read that?

Relevant posts: 1 - book: Sex as Nature Intended it 2 - someone's experience trying not to get his child circumcised...not exactly relevant 3 - a poster named Roo was recently circumcised as an adolescent. Look through some of his posts for his experience (BTW, he's not in favor of it)4 - liamcny was circumcised three weeks agokorydon and Arete also have some interesting things to say. There are more resources on the Web; Google around.

"Cut just looks neater and most girls prefer it." Buffy2005Yeh, Buffy, dem uncut gals really do smell, don' they? I's soo tankful dat yoos likes dem cut gals, too. I's much prefer dem, mineself, specally wen dey shave, too. Phooey on hairy, uncut gals. Dey smell sometin' awful. Yuk! Shave dat hair and cut dos bits, or I's goin home!
-
I would definatelly not, i'd rather give them the choice later in life. I seriously doubt that they would though.

There is a very simple solution to this problem you apparently have. It's called pulling back the skin and then taking a piss. Maybe you should try it.

I think what korydon is trying to say is that in some North African cultures, female genital mutilation (often including removal of the clitoris) is the norm, and it's difficult for a non-mutilated woman to attract a man. So a woman have the choice of giving up sexual feeling for the rest of their lives, or becoming an outcast. There's really no choice, given family pressure.
The idea is that we should be more civilized than that, and not cut off an important part of our body because females think it's cute (which is just your perception anyway).

100% Yes.
