Post on how your doing! I'm back at trying to get into shape. I'm at about 235 right now. I plan on 20 minutes of cardio every other day this week.. or maybe more.. Depends.. So if your gettign into shape.. post whats happening!

I'm headed back to the gym... actually i'm just going to buy some dumb bells and work from that.
I'm 6' tall, 160 lbs
Oh, and my stomach is a keg. I wanna 6 pack like bruce lee. :grin:

I started back at the gym last wednesday, did a bit of everything.Today i did 20 mins on the rowing machine and 10 mins on the cross-trainer thingie. I would have done another 20 mins on the running machine but i couldant be arsed to wait so i went. For now im not overly keen on doing the weights, prehaps in a few weeks.For now im aiming to do an hour of cardio every other day

Are you less tired since working out?For me, I'm back in Kung Fu. New exercises in the class format have me all sore, but I'll adapt.

Oh and Im 5' 6" and 180lbs. Mostly muscle but oh well some fat in there too!

In grade 10 I was 6'2 220 lbs.Now 3 years later I'm 6'4 220 lbs.I work out like 2 hours everyday so my weight basically went from fat (a lot of fat) to muscle (a lot of muscle)I keep working out now because I'm training to become a firefighter.

Well, I'm 20 was in pretty good shape most of my high school career. Then when I graduated I kinda slacked off. So I kicked it in high gear and started working out at the house about 2 days a week. As I progressed I added more days and increased and intensity and length of my workous so as not to become immune to the workouts. To help with some of my cardio (or at least get my heart rate up) I took up Aiki Jujitsu (a form of martial arts...a couple of my instructors are former marines and most of them are cops), more sports (i.e., softball, basketball, some raquetball) and took up a Irish step dance class. I also eat smarter than I did in when I was in high school. Skip the caffeine and sugar and got a sugar substitute. I'm still at 150 but am ready to get to about 120-130. I'm only 5'3 so..um...yeah...

I used to be good at athletics at school. Won the 100metres twice, and the long jump once. I won an award for getting the most points in my year one year. Which was nice. I've always lacked stamina. Im kinda lucky. Im fairly strong, but im skinny 28 inch waist, how i hate it. But i do have broad shoulders so when i move onto weights i think potientially i have a good body for it.
My fitness dropped once i got to the last year of school. At 16 i could ride a moped (hey, they were cool at the time :wink:) so i didn't walk to school (before that i walked a mile to and from school every day). Then at 17 i moved onto a car so its been about 3-4 years without proper excecise.
I'm not applying to join my local police force which i need to up my fitness. Because of all that equal rights crap you only have to be able to push 35kgs, pull 35kgs, and have a grip strength of 35kgs. I can do 41, 51, 51 respectivly. Oh, and level 5.4 on the bleep test which equates to 3.36mins. Which i can easily do.
But i fort that i have a lotta time on my hands why not improve my fitness, it'll help in the police being superfit and it'll make me feel good.
I just do masses of Cardio coz im not 100% sure what to do regarding weights. I hear so many different ways and it confuses me. Do i wanna be doing 3x10 reps, or 3x5, 1x10, 1x5 etc etc etc. I did do 3x5 reps the 1st time, then move up to 3x7 on the 2nd week then the week after go back to 3x5 but a heavier weight. I'm going for how it looks more than how much strength i have. I have a crap chest and i want some pecks :smile:

I was made to run county cross country, i hate running, especially distance. I ran 4 metres and complained of a stitch, problem sorted

Ok.. Guys i need some help.. I havn't excerised all week.. Today.. I walked around his house.. all around the area ... We did probably 5 or 6 miles... Back and fourth.. ( funny im 16.. have my license.. and Im WALKING around town ) That was good exercise.. Some was on the side of road.. through feilds.. in grass... in stores.. everywhere.... I just need motivation.. Lately been having problems with it ( Due to probably my recent spell of depression ) I want to get in shape so bad.. but seem to loose interest real easy.. Any pointers?

Ok.. I got more to add... My main problem with my body.. That bothers the hell out of me.. Is my Stomach... It sticks out ( beer belly.. minues the beer :-P ) If i didn't have a stomach that stuck out... I would even have a problem with my weight.. I could wear tighter shirts.. and be happy.. Maybe i just focus on this area ? Do 200 crunches a night? I dont know.. I want to get rid of my tummy.. Any pointers.. If i could get rid of this.. i might have motivation? I drank a red bull drink today. ( when i was on my journey with my friend ) Says it speed metabolism.. Should i drink one of these a day? Any other things i can drink that might help a little.. I want to get in shape so bad.

Basically wait until you feel better and more yourself.I know what it's like to sit there and feel totally unmotivated to do things, which is why I don't like planning things at the moment. Almost anything I do is on the spur of the moment.

red bull isn't really the best when it comes to picking a drink, it's loaded with sugar

Is it.. That stuff was crazy.. Like i was high.. Just without weed.. It died quickly.. Drink enough of that stuff.. I could do some stupid stuff... I was laughing ALOT with it

I plan on getting in shape for this summer. I'm at 180 and im 5'10".(went from 218 to 180 last summer) I havent worked out in 3-4 monthes except yesterday when it was warm. Damn winter. anyways, i planned on doing cardio on Monday,Wednesday,Friday. do strength training on Tuesday,Thursday,Saturday and just rest on Sunday. I feel this will balance my exercise from day to day instead of doing strength and cardio in one day and working out everyother day. This is how i did it last time. (o yea and started drinking 8 glasses of water a day)

what you did is basically what I did also to lose a bunch of weight. And we're both able to keep it off.

Lets see...lost 10 lbs.at first haven't lost anymore, but my fat is going away. I've gained 3 in. on my biceps and 5 on my calves. I'm at 1.5 hrs a day 2 days a week.
