In reply to: Kerry is a boring sumbitch. no shit, what a cure for ensomnia! As far as social policy goes, I personally know about the leaches on the system. I’ve seen them getting drunk when I can barely afford the gas to get to work. However, no child should go hungry in the same country where people have million dollar yachts! Seeing both sides just means twice the aggravaton!
-
The only reason that kids starve in this country is that the people that recieve welfare for their kids spend it on themselfs.
-
You're right, but I don't think that will happen any time soon.
-
Not all children who are starving in this country have parents who are on welfare or are too lazy to take care of their children, etc. The majority yes, but not all. It's not fair to lump them all into one category. But even if the parents are too lazy, it's not the childs fault and something should be done. I know you guys aren't saying something shouldn't but I am just wanting to clarify that it's not a child's fault if they're parent or parents are too lazy to make sure their children have the things they need.
-
there are a lot of children who's parents fall into the categorys of "working poor" and "mentally or socially disinfranchised"but like I said, NO child should starve in the shadow of excess.
-
What people have should have nothing to do with the other side. What peole have, they have earned. Life is tough, and people have what people have for a reason.
-
I find it hard to believe that people born to wealthy parents have earned so much more than people born to poor parents.
-
Yeah me too.
-
I've been employed and barely had enough to feed my child, nevermind myself. Now, I make a lot of money and give to charity all the time, even though no one sprung to my aid years ago. It's just what you do.With your attitude, I sure hope you don't find yourself in less fortunate circumstances some day.

I never will be. I have work hard for everything I have. I am not like my two older brothers or sister. They live off my Dad. My Dad pays for their car, houses, pays off their credit cards, and gives them shit loads of cash every month. I get up every morning at 4:30 to wake up before the market starts and research. Basically I work from 4:30 to 12. Then I research for the next day from 2:00 to 4:00 when I get home.
-
No school?
-
I got my GED.
-
When? Why aren't you going to college then?
-
Probably because, I never plan on working for someone else, except maybe my Dad's company.
-
nothing beats a college education though...when did you get your GED?
-
I took it in October at some Occupational Center.

here is my explanation on why bush is a dumbass. #1 he started this war for no apparent reason. #2 he is just a way for bush the first to still be on charge. #3 he cant even make a speach without studdering or mis-pronouncing a few words. #4 he only started the war so that he would be re-elected into office. if you look in history, any presidant who was in office durin a war, was re-elected. and...like i said, i did not want to offend anyone. it was just my opinion. just as everyone who does not agree...also has an opinion
-
He also started the war for personal gain due to particular interests of his. Although the oil isn't an obvious reason since the cost of the war far outweighs that of revenues from the oil, Bush doesn't care about the US's goals as much as his own goals. The oil becomes open to companies that keep Bush's interests in mind.Another part of me wants to say that the war was to remove a dangerous leader from Iraq, but I just don't think that's the case. Lies about weapons of mass destruction, and the fact that Iraq really isn't much of a threat to the US compared to a list of multiple other countries... these make me really doubtful about Bush's good intentions.I have to say though, one of the few reasons I might possibly want Bush rather than Kerry (not that I can vote since #1 I'm under age and #2 I'm not american) is that Kerry would potentially withdraw from Iraq. Right now the US is keeping relatively stable control over Iraq, and the system needs time to stabilize itself. Of course, this may not be a good thing in many foreigners eyes since Iraq is becoming a puppet country of the US with a leader that is assured to win since his campaign is funded by your tax dollars (sorry if this comes across wrong, I am not anti-american, but I am against the president's who try to assure power for themselves through these methods).I really don't know what to think. I don't trust Kerry much, but I don't like the way Bush is a complete corporate puppet in many aspects. Not that many modern day leaders aren't swayed by the large corporations, but Bush is in their pocket (or you can say that they share interests that benefit both, but the other way is quicker to say). Don't forget that Bush has been killing the economy and the US dollar has been falling drastically. Also, that he lacks any foresight on the environment and pollution controls (the US being one of the worst countries in the world for polluting their water supplies because it's cheaper for companies to dump hazardous chemicals rather than dispose of them properly and the acid rain created by chemicals released from industry since the US doesn't have very strict policies on that issue).
