im 15 and im hardly attractive: pimples, 3 years braces and still going, long face, small eyes and little overweight (5'5" and 150lbs, but hardly noticeable when im standing up, its all in my thighs). I figure, the least I could do is try and get rid of some if not all pimples, i know its normal for a teenager to get pimples, but then when i look at some of my friends, they usually only have a few, that go away and stay away for a long time but for me, they go away, but reappear in another part of my face such as my forehead, cheeks, below my nosei dont have a job or money, nor do my parents want to spend money on proactiv, so is there something i can do about it such as eat less like unhealthy food, drink more water, use cleanser (which i do) or anything else

Anyway to reduce pimples?

I've tried a lot of cheaper cleansers and the only one to work pretty well was the medicated apricot scrub. If the acne is really bad, you may want to go to the doctor and ask them about oral medications.
-
see your doctor, they'll prescribe something for you. if you dont feel like a bill, get stridex, use it twice daily, the key is to dry your face a lil bit, and keep the bacteria off of your skin, it's bacteria which causes acne, not dirt, not oil, but bacteria. AND DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE, OR SLEEP ON YOUR HANDS. also, if you're on any meds, they can have some affect.
-
oh yea, if I have a pimple thats like all white, is it best to leave it alone? my mom is always wanting me or herself to squeeze it
-
People get Pimples/Acne because they scratch and dig at the ones they have, and the bacteria runs down your face and makes more pimples!Dont scratch, and fall asleep with your hands under your pillows..! Most people scratch their face in their sleep..I dont have any Acne!
-
Short of Rx Medication there isn't much you can do. And while getting older changes the amount, they don't get any smaller. I for example have a 2nd head growing out of my eyebrow.
-
That's not true. Yeah it's good not too pick at your face as it slows the healing process, but scratching and digging at your face is not going to give you pimples.
-
I heard it did, because the pressure from your fingers, actually pressed more bacteria, that's already on the surface of your skin, into pores.
-
try washing your face at least 2 times a day with a skin clenser also i know this may sound a little wierd but whenever you feel a pimple growing put your spit on it before you go to sleep because it drys it out it works

Try visiting http://www.acne-advice.com for advice on the diet aspect of preventing spots.
I recently started using a cleanser, followed by an exfoliant, (mechanical and chemical). When my face is dry, I spray some tea tree/water mix I made onto my palms and massage all over my face, then moisturise using an olive oil/tea tree mix I also made. I haven't had a single new spot since I started this regime. It sounds a lot, but it takes about 5 minutes.
You need to cleanse, exfoliate, disinfect and moisturise.

i know when i took my hair and asthetics course we had to do a spot on facials.. and i know my partner had bad acne.. and after that.. her face looked great!! cleared up very noticably!!Just use a good cleanser, exfoliant, toner and moisturizer. Its also really good if you do have a facial once or twice a week. it lifts the oil and makes it all good...I know at one point i used to have really bad pimples but on my arms and back.. they werent the juicy whiteheads but the little bumps.. and well it was a week or two before semi-formal and i didnt want to wear my dress.. so i exfoliated my skin like mad!! and its hardly there anymoreThe new thing to do these days is exfoliate.. do it like its going out of style!!!

I would say try: Dove Aroma Masage - I use this and basically it contains little bits that scrub against the skin cleansing pores; getting all the dirt out. Another thing I will suggest is to: Fill a bowl full of hot water and lean over it with you face above it with a towel, this can draw out any dirt in your pimples.

better foods
you could try not eating anything greasy and no soft drinks
that helps me hella lot
maybe it will help you -
Foods, i'm sorry to say, have nothing to do with acne/pimples. It's either hereditary, hormonal, meds, or bacteria. Greasy foods, chocolate, have nothing to do with pimples or acne.
-
I beg to differ. If you eat greasy foods and you're a messy eater or you just plain smack it across your face, it can cause acne. On a serious note, higher influxes of iodine is the only food related cause of acne that I know of.

So true, so true.
-
but, normal foods that are high in grease do nothing for acne
-
lol... i can't think of a normal food that is high in grease... yet not greasy...jepardy tune in the background
-
lol i meant, that if you eat food normally and not like a toddler, splashing sauce and food all over your mouth and face, then greasy foods should not be the cause of increased acne...
