I was just wondering, is there any do it yourself circumcision products or things of that natur? And also, how much does a circumcision operation cost.Has anyone ever tried doing it by themselves?p.s.- I have no health insurance and plus I'm scared of going for an operation..

Do it yourself
-
I can give you one gold advice - Never, ever try it yourself. I once saw the program Nip/Tuc and there a guy tried to do it himself in the bathroom. He ended up in the hospital of almost bleeding to death. Then his dad found out, but then he actually got a circumcision in the hospital. So if you can loose a few gallons of blood, and can wait to get it done in the hospital, go for it

Hey i saw that episode too.. I was thinking about that and I remember him (the kid who did it) listening to a tape or reading instructions.. I would so love to go to for the operation but I'm 15 and for som reason my mother won't let me have it done.. I don't know if its because of my religion (catholic) or something else.
-
First of all, I don't think it's covered by insurance anymore unless it is a serious problem to you. You can't do it your self because it has to be restiched to the shaft after the foreskin is removed, among many other reasons. No operation is cheap. My Step Dad is a brain surgeon and he'll even admit the small opertion of any kind is over priced. By the way, it would hurt anymore than anyother precedure, but the recovery is tough.

In response to:"p.s.- I have no health insurance and plus I'm scared of going for an operation.. "Then you definately shouldn't do it yourself I also saw that nip/tuck episode... Cuticle scissors, bottle of wine... disaster!

I am guessing you're a 15 year old in the USA whose not circumsized. Its probably really embarrassing that you're not circumsized and I can understand even though im circumsized. Guys in the locker rooms get teased and picked on if they're not circumsized. But anyway, if you want to be circumsized you will have to wait until your parents dont have an opinion (i.e. 18). Do not do it at home because it could go very wrong. Not only is there a risk of blood loss, but you could also get a very bad infection on your penis which could result in it having to be either partially or fully amputated. Infections can only be stopped by the use of antibiotics that can only be prescribed by a doctor, and they do prescribe them after a circumcision on an adult male (which you are in terms of your penis). When a baby is done, they don't need antibiotics or even stichers, because the wound is so small it just heals itself.Dude you only have 3 years until you can decide for yourself, so just wait until then. Perhaps you will change your mind between now and then.

why wont your mom let you? thats kinda wierd but atleast you have the balls to talk to them about it. i cant talk to my rents bout that stuff. ne ways im 18 in 3 weeks but im not gonna have it done on my b-day or nothing. haha. as for cost it aint that bad from what ive researched ne were from 600 if its in office or up to 1500. anesethia matters too. ive secretly saved up about 400 bucks to have it done but i still need more. quick question who do you even go to about getting a circ once ur 18? do i just call a urologist? go to any dr. in the phone book?
-
In reply to:who do you even go to about getting a circ once ur 18?As with most 'specialist' treatment, you will probably need a referal from a normal doctor. So you will have to go to a normal doctor first to get a referal. He wont look at your dick or anything, just tell him you want to be circumsized. He might ask a few questions though as to why you want it done and whether you're having problems down there. However you can normally book right into a cosmetic surgery that does the procedure without any referal. Also the result will probably be better at a cosmetic surgon. But the cosmetic surgon probably costs in the latter scale of the prices you were quoting (closer to $1500).

I used to know this one Korean dude back in 7th grade. Among many Koreans, it's apparently tradition to get circumcised a bit later in life (I think between 11 and 15 years). If I recall correctly (this was a long time ago), he just went to see his family doctor and he then went to a urologist. Good luck with that! It looked EXTREMELY painful! He couldn't come outside for a long time. And he had to stay in doors with a towel on all day. He had many bandages wrapped around it and they were soaked in blood. When he finally could come out, he had to walk really carefully.

Why do you guys want to get circumsized? I love not being cut and almost everyone I know isn't cut.
-
I really depends on what part of the world you are from. In the US it depends on what part of the country you live. Here in the US the majority of males are circumcised and some guys don't like being the odd man out.
-
OK, Mod, surely you aren't saying that we should mutilate ourselves because the people around us were mutilated, or that U.S. citizens should be so afraid of being different that they would sacrifice their uniqueness and individuality in order to conform. Such meek submissiveness is anti-American. Teach men to be ashamed of the natural body, and our unique culture, dedicated to the sovereignty of the individual, is doomed. Male genital mutilation may be common in the United States, but it is a fascistic, totalitarian imposition upon the body politic. Korydon

I don't know where you got that idea from. I was responding to the guy as to why some people want to get cut. Some guys are too ashamed to be the only intact guy amongst their friends and thus wants to be like everyone else. I never said I agreed with it.
-
Great! It behooves us to work on helping men overcome shame, and merely mentioning that many men give in to the tyranny of the majority works against selfhood. Had you mentioned the possibility that a few hardy individuals might benefit from a stiffening of the spine, might help other men take pride in the stiffening of an intact penis, rather than having them submit meekly to fashion and sham and to unnecessarily mutilating themselves. Then we might not have be having this little exchange. As the mod, you need to be fully aware of the import of what you are saying, as your posts have weight beyond the norm, and beyond the postings of those of us who are mere mortals. Korydon

In reply to: I never said I agreed with it. Besides.. moderaters are allowed opinions too.. they arent robots
-
Yeah, OK... I think you are overreacting a bit... But if you were here a bit longer, you would know that I too am intact and try to provide assistance to young males with forskin issues. That doesn't change the fact that some do succumb to the pressures of looking like their peers. It's not my job to lecture them and dissuade them. I try to help them not have problems with retraction etc... but socially, the choice is their own. You on the other hand, can do the lecturing for me.

Wouldn't you rather spend your cash on something that won't give you a sore dick for 3 weeks (so sore you won't even be able to spank it) and that will matter very little to anyone other than you. You could use the money towards a new car, motorcycle, hell even a night at a titty bar...I thought of getting circ'd too when I was 18 but am glad I didn't . Women really don't care, in fact, many I've been with actually prefer uncut. So save your $ and the pain.

In Australia it is about 50% circumcised (which i am). Is it easier to masterbate when you not circumcised. coz when i masterbate i have to use lube (spit) to do it but with a foreskin you could just move it up and down
-
Thanks, mod. It's good to know, as far as this subject is concerned, that we are essentially on the same page. I appreciate the necessity for you to be nonjudgemental, but, having suffered grievously the consequences of circumcision, I'm exquisitely aware of the danger of not giving men an unvarnished view of genital mutilation. Male circumcision has become so common in the United States that Americans have become almost inured to its presence, and unaware that as a sexual practice it is essentially a manifestation of a body-dysmorphic disorder, which is within the obsessive-compulsive spectrum of mental disease. Related practices include sado-masochism. Routine male genital mutilation, itself, is a direct consequence of sexual repression. Despite successful attempts by many circumcised men to restore their foreskin by "stretching", the consequences of genital mutilation are irremediable. In no way can male genital mutilation be likened to a trip to the barber: "Take a bit off the top, please!" The consequences to both the man and his consort, the ever suffering wife, are too serious to be ignored. Men need to know these things, and pallid statements that some men may not enjoy being different aren't enough. So ... lecture over ... class dismissed?Korydon
