What clothes do you usually wear to a job interview?I'm thinking about wearing a nice collared yet casual shirt, khaki pants, and white kswiss shoes.

A call center for prescription drugs. I'll be on a computer all day taking calls, faxing, etc.edit: I just remembered my first interview when I was going for a job as network technician. I wore t-shirt, jeans, and regular tennis shoes. I didn't know I had an interview that day until the last minute. But I still got the job!

I think it's always best to wear a suit or nice dress pants/shirt with a tie. I wouldn't wear khakis or kswiss shoes. You might be on the computer all day and not dress like that on a regular basis there, but it's always a good idea to make the best impression possible when going for an interview. It's better to be overdressed than under.

If you're applying for a job at McDonalds then fine wear shorts, but an interview you need to dress to impress. If two people come in for an interview equally qualified, etc., and one is not dressed up and the other is, then the one who took the time to dress professionally is going to get the job. I've worked in HR, and I've heard some of the comments afterwards from managers about the way people dress for interviews. Trust me, take the time to dress up, it's worth it. In the end it's better to be over dressed than under dressed when it comes to an interview.

Well, I had my interview today. One hour of questions and talking. Once we got passed all the securty doors I noticed that all the people there were wearing pretty much what I was wearing. In one of the conversations I had with the lady interviewer I mentioned that I'd like to dress professionally but I didn't really have much money for suits and such. She explained that they encourage to dress comfortably because of the long hours sitting in one place, yet presentable enough to be seen as professional. All-in-all the interview went extremely well. I'm hopin' I'll get the job.

Glad the interview went well...and Unforgetto, yes your experience and they way you answer questions is quite important, but so is appearance. Like I said before, if two equally qualified people come in to interview, and both ace the interview, then the decision can actually come down to appearance, as in the person wearing a suit versus the one who was dressed casually. In the business world apperance does matter.

First impressions are important with interviews because... well an interview is pretty much a first impression. In an interview, the way you dress says something about character.
