HiI was playing basketball a few weeks ago and took a elbow to the penis itself, which dosent happen to often beacuse usually I get elbows to the balls. Anyways, a few days later I noticed that the shaft was bruised on two sides. It dosent hurt, and its not swollen or anything beacuse I iced it after it happened. Its been a while since that happened, but the bruises are still there. They have gotten a little better, but they are still ugly. Everything else down there is fine, its just a little discolored. I masturbat a few times a week and stopped after I realized that it probably irritates the bruises. Any other ideas? I probably have to just let it run its couse, and not masturbate for a few weeks. Also take basketball practice a little bit slower. Thanks

Hey bud, I think you're on the right track on this one. Having never been bruised there (ouch!) I'm not sure how long it'll take for these bruises to heal or go away. Take it easy for a while and see how things go. As long as there is no swelling I suspect things are going to be fine down there.

definitly stop masterbating since that would stop the bruise from healing quickly, if you have a bruise on your arm and you poke it constantly does it heal quickly?
-
you sure it wasn't vigorous masterbation that caused the bruise in the first place??? hmmm???

That would have been a much more fun way to get that bruise, but alas the blame falls on sports.
I figured out after watching video of the game when I got smashed that I got 'caught' by the elbow as it was moving sideways into my inner thigh, catching myself in the process. Now I have had alot of sports related injuries, but never have I heard of something like this happening. I guess thats what happens when your 6'5 and the person guarding you is 5'7 and in excellent elbow smashing position.
I will just take it easy for a few weeks and put thoes Ice packs in my fridge to good use! Thanks for your input guys, its all really apprciated.

Heybale, I don't mean to alarm you, but if I were you I'd swallow my pride and embarrassment and see a doctor ASAP. ASAP, by the way, means AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.Penile injury is nothing to ignore. The bruises are indications of blood having been spilled, and you should be aware of the possible consequences. Indications are that your particular injury isn't serious, but you don't want to take a chance. These accidents often result in a permanent curvature of the penis if left untreated. If this ever happens again, go directly to a doctor. Time matters in these cases.Keep us informed, OK?Korydon

Well this is a strange coincidence. Found out that my last physical expired on thurdsay, and that I needed to get another one by saturday to play in the game on sunday. So I was able to get a doctors opinion on the subject, and everything is all right. I dont remember exactly what he said, but it went something like 'the pigment in this skin is different that other skin on your body, so it can hold discolorations a little longer. Just leave it alone for 2 weeks or so and if it hasn't gotten better, or gone away completley to go see a Dermatologist.' He did check for other injurys that could haveinvolved the bruiseing and found none, but he was upset that I hadnt gone to him earlyer. This guy has been a family doctor and good freind my whole life. Anyways, thats the end of that. Thanks for your guys' help, comments, and concerns. I will stop by these forums more often and return the favor to other people with concerns. Take care,Heybale
