I'm on the job hunt yet again, and I've been on 3 interviews this week and have one more tomorrow morning. I find it amazing how dumb and unprofessional some employers can be. Anyone care to share their worst interview experience?

Interviews

I've never really had a bad interview but I've had kind of a funny interview. I was being interviewed by a network engineer and network operations director (NOD) at the same time. The NOD had to step out to make take a call and the Network Engineer started telling me some things about the work they did and to say certain things when he gets back to the room. I landed a good job that time. The Network Engineer turned out to be my supervisor who was a very nice guy.

I'm currently looking for a job. You can hire me! I'll work as an apprentice for.... $10 an hour!
-
Yeah. Too bad I'm not done with college. Maybe I'd actually go out to Cali for a job. That's what I plan to do later in life. Good luck with finding candidates though. Just avoid frat boys, that's my only advice.
-
$10 an hour...I'd command more than that.
-
My last job paid $6.14
-
ouch
-
how do employers expect people to live off of 6.99/hr. and under, and still not live in a "bad" area.
-
Exactly! My coworkers called me quarter boy... cuz I made a quarter of what they made but did the same work. lol. Hiring high school students equals cheap labor.
-
I was making $10.50 doing day care...maybe you should look into that
-
my last job was for a Catering company...I sighs made an amazing 33 bucks an hour, and I worked for a good 30 hours each time. It was pure hell, but I got to cook, serve, and clean up. I enjoyed it, but it was an endurance test.
-
holy crap, $10.50 for daycare. My friend works on nuclear subs and only gets $13.50 an hour here.
-
on a Nuclear sub only gets you 13.50? that is not cool.
-
I think it's just the area I'm in
-
probably.

The worst interview I’ve had or the worst interview that I’ve given lolUmmm you can have the worst one that I’ve given… was interviewing someone (Alan) that was transferring from one petrol station over to mine. I went through the bullshit of “we do this, this is done this way here and this is where such and such is kept… yadda yadda… bullshit bullshit”.It got to the closing part of the interview to where I was going to decide if I wanted him, and that if he wanted to join our team. It came to the last bit where I said to him “oh, just to warn you, that… well… the guy on the till at the moment [Keith] is the reason why the last couple of members of staff have left the garage. And… well… just to warn you that he’s a shirt-lifter and a sausage jockey!”The look on Alan’s face was classic as he then looked at me and said “Do you realise you’ve just taken the piss out of a gay person, INFRONT of another gay person?”lol the look on my face must have been classic and I didn’t realise it but I was also backing away to the wall lol. He then just looked at me and started laughing and taking the piss out of me lol. Amazingly enough I did take Alan on, and when we’d catch up with each other working on different stations we always laughed about it lol

You took Alan up the what?

Heres my worse interview.I go in. I answer all the questions as planned. They tell me they are going to call me no matter what. No call... Obviously i sucked so much
-
my last 2nd last interview:me: "do you want to look at my resume?"him: "yes.. wait.. no. you're hired"LOLand now he loves me ...in his demanding boss way

I have 2 very similar "worsts"both were BBI (behaviour based interview) where they ask stupid questions from a form (do you walk to work or take your lunch) rather than talk with you. I have over 15yrs experience in my field and I found these BBIs to be an absolute waste of my time. The pathetic thing is, one was with the company I was working for, applying for a promotion... pathetic!imho, the interview proccess should be kept out of the hands of the HR dept!
