I was diagnosed with HPV (I actually self diagnosed, and talked to the longterm ex that I had most likely contracted, and she admitted to hiding it from me), and went to my local clinic.they did a full check, turns out I had asymptomatic chlamydia and HPV. The former was treated with a 7 day antibiotic, however, I had been treated once a week by the doctor by him applying this dark sticky liquid to my penis wherever the HPV was (I have about 6-7 small spots). Can anyone identify what this treatment is?I was supposed to let it stay for 8 hours, then remove it, and I am treated once a week. I've gone two weeks, and my appointment this week was moved back. I havent seen any improvement on the warts whatsoever, so I was curious if I should ask for a different treatment, or if I am just not waiting long enough. My current girlfriend had her yearly checkup, and we had been safe, however she did have a chlamydia infection that she has already been treated for as well, and no sign of HPV (and hopefully to stay that way).

This dark liquid is a keratolytic or antimitotic agent. Probably Podophyllum resin or Podofilox. They are caustic solutions which burn the wart and cause it to die off. It does take a few weeks to fully work. When I had this 15 yrs ago, the doctor actually gave me a small bottle of the stuff to apply myself. You might want to ask if he'll do the same. http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic640.htm
