Hello everyone, I am a 16 year old hispanic male and I was concerned about my genital development, and I was wondering if you guys can give me some insight to this. I am approximately 5'6 and I weight about 240 pounds. Over the pass few years that I have been through puberty, I haven't noticed drastic changes in either my height or my penis size. I actually think my penis hasn't grown much from when I was 12. It probably has considering I have grown a lot since I was 12 and it seems to be keeping up, but it's still somewhat small. Over the pass 4 years, I have grown probably around 2-5 inches in height. Penis size has been 5.5 inches since I was 12 and it hasn't grown anything. When it's flaccid , it like goes inside, all you can see is the head, since I am uncircumcised all you can see is the head and the foreskin, if I pull my foreskin back and push in a little my penis is about 2.5-3 inches flaccid, and if I pull back when it's erect it's about 5.5 or 5.75, otherwise if I don't pull back it's barely like 4 inches. So I was wondering if you guys suggest me going to the doctor to check if it's normal, or just lose weight and see if that helps my problem. Tell me if you think this might be puberty running a little late for me and I should go to the doctor, or if you think it's just that I am overweight. Take into consideration I am 16 years old, and puberty for me should be over in a really short period of time, since the average age is 17. I am really concerned, please give me some advice, thank you.

Hey mateThere's nothing wrong in your development. Your penis size is close if not the same as the male average which is 5.5-6". Your flaccid size is not small either.Alot of guys experience a late growth spurt down below so you have nothing to worry about - I'm sure your doctor will reassure you as well.Dean

Things sound fine to me, sure, when flaccid your penis may not be very visible...but flaccid isn't what matters. I too am sometimes very small when flaccid, and I'm also uncut. However, there is one thing you can do. I used to weigh about 255 pounds and I'm an even 6 feet in height. I found out I was diabetic about 2 years ago and went on a major diet and exercise routine. I lost about 40 pounds and I can tell you that by losing the weight I gained several inches in flaccid length. Carrying around some extra weight will cause your penis to appear smaller when flaccid because of what the extra skin and flesh does around our stomach and pelvic area. In addition to "showing more" of your penis, losing weight and generally becoming more healthy is a great thing. I'd say work on the weight and see what happens. Good luck and feel free to keep in touch!
