Six-Pack abs
-
I do and it's all about having low body fat. Once you're under 8% you abs will be visable. Durring this process you must eat healthy. Yuo also need an ab regimen to tone them.
-
Average joe, what is an ab regimen? can you recommend one to me? thanx
-
It's a routine of excersises.
-
thanx joe

dude, i can give you the ab workout that I do, just PM me. Mainly just crunches and stuff will work. It definitely helps around the summertime.

i have 6% body fat and no six pac, though i have been working them for over 3 years. i wonder if its something with genitics
-
I think I'm under 5% or about 5%, not sure. I just do situps every evening, that does it for me. But believe it or not press ups also help with the chest, so I find doing a combination of situps and press ups, allow to me to get a better gain.

well, being both a vegitarian and a health nut, i had my body fat content checked litterally yesturday (i know you probably wont believe me) and the reading was for the average of 5 test, 6.8%
-
i don't have a 6 pack either - no matter how many sit ups i do. my diet is very healthy as well!
-
You may not have a 6 pack, but your abs have to be visable.
-
in respons to a previous post, im not a body builder, though i have tried. i simply cannot get my muscles to show. mabey im just not built for that.
-
You can't see muscles under fat. j/k
-
check my previous post genious. my body fats at 6.8%, last time i checked, most athletes are betrween 8 - 12%.
-
Eh buddy chill out. He was just kidding. @Thread Starter: A few people here have them, AverageJoe, Helsman and Unforgetto I believe have them. If you need advise with excersising I definetly recommend just pming one of them - especially Helsman - I'm sure they be glad to give you advice man. Good luck gettin that six-pack
-
srry, didnt mean to freak out. ill check with them thks
-
I'd say most good or aclimated athletes are 10% or below considering ameture body builders are like 5% and pros like 3%.
-
No 8-12% is about right. Going under that isn't healthy unless you do have large amounts of muscle to protect that areas that fat would otherwise protect (your kidneys for example), like a body builder would have. It also really depends on the athlete though, as different sports build and require different things. I don't know how accurate that is for most bodybuilders anyways, considering that there's some fat between the muscle structure, and bodybuilders generally have alot of muscle. Going under 5% isn't that great for your body though, even though so many experienced bodybuilders do it.

Even though he's a vegetarian he could still take protein supplements.

Well, even though im a vegitarian doesnt mean that i dont get enough protien. as the majority of nutritionalist say, the average american gets more than 6 times the recomended amount of protien. all that protien goes to waste, mainly into fat and unused enzyms. i get plently of protine from beans, soy, and complex carbs (wich turn into protines). so, in respons to your topic, both by body fat and weight, i am in excillent health, and fairly strong, i just cant show it in any way.
