For the past few years, actually about 7-8 years now, I've been getting these red spots on my tongue. I'll try to explain. They are circular in shape and the average size is about a pencil eraser in diameter, but can be a little bigger or a little smaller, and can pop-up anywhere on my tongue (typically not on the underneath side though). The spots will come and go, possibly popping up once a month and lasting for about a week each time. Again, this has been happening for about the last 7-8 years. They are typically painful when they pop up, not excruciating, but bothersome, espeically when they pop-up in numbers (right now I have approxiamtely 3-4 across the front/top of my tongue.) I don't want to be misleading by writing "pop-up". They seem to be under the surface and are not really raised. I must be frank here, I noticed them first appear after I performed cunnilingus (sorry for the spelling) on a girl in college. I have never had any other spots on any other part of my mouth, just my tongue. The only thing I could find in any medical journal was thrush. But I don't seem to match the list of typical affected people. Any help you could provide would be helpful. Thanks

And you've never seen a doctor about this???
-
nope
-
Sounds like geographic tongue. My brother has it.
-
Oh wait, I re-read that... Probably not geographic tongue...
-
LOL, actually, I just did some reading on it, and it sounds like it very well COULD be geographic tongue.
-
Make up your mind, damn it!!
-
Geographic tongue... is that for real? I'll look it up. Anything I should be worried about?
-
What did you find? Sound like your symptoms? No, as far as I know there isn't anything to worry about. If it's painful, a dentist or someone might give you a gargle or something. My grandma also gets burning sensations on her tongue. Her's is a side effect of diabetes though....

sounds about right. I was wondering if they could be from come allergy, but I could never narrow it down to anything. Also, no cure huh?

Hmm. When I was really little I use to not brush my teeth a lot. Some times when I bit my tongue a lil bubble grew in there(ew I know) Well Then I got it removed. Is it like that? Mine was kind of red ,but filled with liquid(yuccckkkkkkk imagine that on YOUR tongue)

Especially taking into consideration that you preformed an oral sexual act right before it started, you may have a candida infection in your mouth. In babies it's known as thrush. Adults can also get it even though we aren't as prone to it. It's something I battle a lot due to having candida overgrowth (where candida has infected the blood stream and infects the entire body). Have a doctor do a test for fungus in your month.
